SportLightning Posted March 12, 2024 Report Posted March 12, 2024 I thought Asunción (Paraguay) had a good shoot to host it, but looks like it's too late for them now as Lima (Peru) was selected to do so which will be the second time they will do so after they did in 2019. Quote

It was never a good bet from the moment a stronger bid came in the table. And that was not counting Brazil, Chile or Mexico, cause it would be the same result (Even worse). Paraguay was never the favourite of the race. Quote

Paraguay was never the favourite of the race. They always do this. It’s just their M.O. They always chose the weakest link for these things for some reason or another. It was simple mathematics in this case, really. Does PASO chose a bid from a much smaller, inexperienced city that would have to work from the ground up to get everything done in the limited time left ‘til 2027? Or do they chose the bid from a much bigger city that has recently already done this before in the small window of time left? It was a no-brainer. But little you-know-who couldn’t/can’t grasp that kind of analytical thinking. It’s like they go outta their way to go against the trend of the current just to be different, in their own delusion mind for whatever reason. At this point, it’s just best not to pay them too mind in these sort of instances. 1 Quote
Roger87 Posted October 26, 2024 Report Posted October 26, 2024 Considering the current situation in Peru (Which it doesn't look to be solved in the short term considering this is coming since 2017), wonder if there will be a new change of host city. But also Asunción can't considering the recent crisis (security and financial) is also affecting the country. Quote

Tatsh Posted August 9, 2025 Report Posted August 9, 2025 According Panam Sports link: “A brand inspired by the dynamism of Peru. It reflects a country that thrives on its diversity, its mix of races and traditions. It is the shared heartbeat of a region that seeks to recognize, celebrate, and project itself to the world. Here, every athlete, citizen, visitor, and cultural expression is part of a network that connects emotions, dreams, and collective narratives,” said Federico Tong, president of the Lima 2027 Organizing Committee. “In that vibe, Lima27 builds a link across the Pacific, a bridge between cities, generations, and dreams. It is the bridge between the continental dream and global recognition. From Lima, the paths lead to Los Angeles 2028,” said Renzo Manyari, president of the Peruvian Olympic Committee. “Our torch is a Peruvian symbol for the world, it is the flame that comes from Machu Picchu and the entire shape of Huayna Picchu,” added Manyari. The light colour can be linked to the sea, but the other one, i still can't find any reason. 1 Quote
