very true, esp if Rob’s report from from @marcventouillac turns out to be the case re the candidature from France.  Should that happen, an extraordinary IOC Session outside France in 2024 would likely be needed for the subsequent Host Election.

So it is a treble award?! Wow. I thought they might do that but I didn't think it'd be in that way or that order. I feel for Sweden, they're like Turkey with the Euros - the IOC are willing to do anything to avoid them...

It's a double.  2030 and 2034 have effectively been awarded.  Tough to figure what this means for 2038.

Again, it's the IOC.  They'll do whatever they want to do without having the answer to anyone but themselves

“2038 X” means 2038 or 2042 for Switzerland, but first priority is 2038 for Switzerland.
