Again, nice photos, Jaca. But does Spain even have an ice hockey league?

Yes, of course.

Spain has an ice hockey league with eight teams: Barcelona, Gastéiz, Jaca, Madrid, Puigcerdá, Txuri Urdín, Majadaonda and Vall D'Aran Vielha. There is a Sub–18 (junior) league too.

The team HORCONA JACA has won the league a lot of times and this year won the cup of the King too.

The ice stadium will serve too for the figure skating team.

I really feel impressed about Jaca spirit. They have not had even a remote chance to host, but they're keep on going... Admirable :) I like their efforts a lot.

I would really love to see WG in the Pyrenees, as they are a great place in Europe, but while Jaca (or at least Huesca) still lacks an airport or some other basic technical needs, it'd become quite foolish to try again & again.

BTW, I have to say that Huesca's region, obviously including Jaca, has one of the best landscapes of the whole Spain. You can't miss it in your next trip to Espana! ;)

Good luck in a (let's hope) near future!

Hi!

Thanks for a support message. I have been in this forum since the beginning of the Jaca 2014 bid and there haven't had many messages supporting the city.

I have read in other topics that you have been in Spain. Did you visit Jaca? Which area of Aragon did you see?

WHAT IS EXPO ZARAGOZA 2008?

From 14th June to 14th September 2008 the first International Exposition, organised according to the recognised model of the International Exhibitions Bureau (B.I.E.) will be held in Zaragoza.

EXPO ZARAGOZA 2008 will be an international celebration of the dynamic relationship between water and human societies, in a global, effective and supportive project, created on the basis of an enduring concept: WATER AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

The chosen theme is of vital importance not only for present time but also for future

generations. Water is life, raw material; it is energy, a path linking peoples and regions, the germ of civilisation and source of culture. It is, above all, a symbol of universality.

This exposition is supported by solid principles and motives at international, national and local levels. They are indicators of the Spain’s development and stability, its consolidation as a world-class tourist destination and its experience in organising largescale events, such as the Olympic Games in Barcelona’92 or the Expo Sevilla’92.

KNOWING ZARAGOZA!

Zaragoza, the administrative and financial capital of the Aragon region of, is the fifth largest spanish city after Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, with 650,000 inhabitants. With its enviable geographical position and excellent access, it also acts as the functional capital of the Ebro Valley, the most dynamic, social and economically promising focus of Spain.

The development of the city, founded in Roman times, has consolidated its development through its close links with its water resources and their use.

Zaragoza is set in a semi-arid region surrounded by mountains. Waters from snows and glaciers meet and descend on the semi desert flat lands of the Ebro valley creating oasis, forming cultural landscapes, which a series of different and often coexisting human communities evolved over time.

Aragon has consistently endured a struggle against desertification. Zaragoza is the seat of the first integral body for river management in the world, Confederación Hidrográfica del Ebro (Ebro Hydrographic Office).

The works of the cover are a bit delayed as the cover should have been finished in August, and we can see that they haven't finished it yet.

EXPO ZARAGOZA 2008:

Some pictures of the projects:

Themed Squares

Located between the pavilion bridge and the Spain pavilion, they aim to enrich and intensify the message of the vital link with water, from various perspectives. This provision of some of the essential messages of the EXPO will be very effective in communication terms, enabling more detailed treatment of specific aspects.

Six independent themed squares are planned, each with approximately 1,000 square metres of useful surface area for exhibition purposes.

It will be part of the amenities to be bequeathed to the city of Zaragoza when the International Exposition ends and will contribute to the development of tourism in the city.
