Morocco/Portugal/Spain 2030

Recommended Posts

Spain and Portugal announced their bid two years ago. Ukraine joined last year. But Ukraine is not likely to bid with Portugal and Spain. Morocco is set to replace Ukraine in Spain and Portugal's joint bid. It would be a fantastic opportunity for the North African country to host also with the two European countries since they have a strong partnership.

Both of the African countries are bidding in separate joint bids. We'll see about that if Morocco with Portugal and Spain could beat Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece to do so.

Unlike Qatar, Morocco's system for buying beer is both long-standing and successful. You'll have no issues there unlike in Qatar because the King doesn't need to play to a religious base as much.

You can drink beer in Morocco. It's far more liberal with its booze laws than Qatar. My bigger concern would be the heat. Come to think of it, would Morocco even be needed for a possible WC? Do Portugal and Spain not have enough stadiums to handle 100+ games on their own?

Of course Spain and Portugal can do it, if they want. Spain has 10 stadiums above 40.000 and Portugal 3. If you go down to 30.000 (Which also 1 in the 2026 has) there are alone in Spain 10 more. So off course they can if they want, if we only talk about stadiums.
