Toto, I know this isn't Kansas, but where are we exactly?

Ah, good to know...although you do know Africa is quite big? We are in the place next to where all that Serengeti rain eventually ends up - by the Indian Ocean in the other Kenyan city the tourists have heard of - Mombasa!

The resorts around Mombasa can be so luxurious, even Tommy might be satisfied with holding a vote here. It's certainly good enough for us - so let's see what we're voting on with the Round 1 results:

A: 9. B: 2. C: 1. D: 11. E: 3. F: 8. G: 3. H: 8.

Four clearly at the bottom, four clearly in the hunt - you're very thoughtful ^_^ Sadly it does mean four logos have to go so it's goodbye to @Scotguy II @Victorian @Sir Rols & @PikyoK. Thank you and better luck next year. For the rest of you, welcome to Round 2!

We are now in the exhaustive ballot stage, which means the rules are slightly different:

  • This voting round will be open for (approximately) 48 hours - it will close at 10pm UK time, Saturday 14 January.
  • Voting will now be conducted in rounds until one entry has an absolute majority and is declared the winner.
  • In this and following rounds, the logo with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated at the close of the poll.
  • Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote, so make it count.
  • Your vote is public and can be seen by all.
  • Entrants MAY vote for their own logo. For transparency, I will not vote unless required to break a tie.
  • Votes are valid if cast by members of GamesBids as of January 1 2023 with a bona fide posting record.
  • I will rule on the validity of any suspicious or disputed votes, or who constitutes a bona fide voting member.
  • I will not vote in this, or any subsequent rounds. However, if a tie-breaker vote is needed, I will reserve my right to vote in order to break it.
  • Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT.

We will see each other again on Saturday, either for Round 3 or a winner. Until then, good luck, and may the best logo win! :)

Well, that wasn’t unexpected - I didn’t think my animals would pass through the short list round. Congrats to those who did, and commiserations to my fellow farewellers.

Now that I’m out, I feel a bit freer to indulge in my personal critiques of those remaining. All are great (hat short list round was pretty even - this round ma be interesting), but a few thoughts.

A - not the “N” I expected to get through (or the one I voted for). It never really grabbed me, but it must have some appeal to others.

B - what can I say, an original Davey Podmore. Slick, as always. With animals to boot!

C - this is sorta what I was trying to aim for when I tinkered with tribal designs. But JD made it work whereas I didn’t have the talent to even be close

D - and speaking of tribal elements, this is my favourite. Very Maasai, and very simple.

Good luck to all of you!

Also, a quick reminder to entrants to try and promote the voting. In Reykjavik, we got 14 voters in the short list round, but struggled a bit to get a respectable number in the second. Let’s see if we can get those numbers up this time.

Also note, if you are linking the polls in your sigs, make sure you change the link to this thread now.
