Wanted to get SKY Pacific's Paris 2024 Olympic TV schedules for Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, and Vanuatu from parent company Digicel's website. But I'm having trouble with this because of forbidden blocking at the library for some bizarre reason.

As the China Media Group works on its massive Paris 2024 broadcasting coverage with the Opening Ceremony, the CMG will set a record for the scale of its broadcast coverage of the Paris Olympics as an accredited broadcaster. CMG has signed coverage agreements for the quadrennial international sporting event with China Mobile's entertainment platform Migu and popular video platforms such as Douyin, Kuaishou and Tencent, exceeding all previous Olympic Games in terms of number of platforms and contract amount.

Zhang Dong, the deputy general manager of Migu, CMG's only live broadcast copyright partner, said that CMG is the world's largest and a world-class mainstream broadcaster. China Mobile is very happy to cooperate with CMG to broadcast the Paris Olympic Games, present a wonderful sports feast to the public and cheer for the Chinese national team, Zhang added. CMG even produced special coverage program posters in going along with this banner advertising reaping.

So far, CMG has signed advertising contracts with nearly 50 companies, both domestic and international, for its broadcast of the Paris Games. China's famous car brand Hongqi has gained the naming rights to CMG's Olympic special program "China's Glory." Other domestic companies, such as Alibaba Group, packaging water supplier Nongfu Spring and leading dairy group Yili, have signed up as CMG's "gold partners." China Post and online recruitment platform BOSS Zhipin have also joined hands with CMG, particularly for its coverage of table tennis, badminton and other individual events. Also reached agreements with many internationally renowned enterprises like Amway, Coca-Cola, BMW, Budweiser, Shell, Adidas, etc.:

No English broadcast in France. The best you may find is Eurosport streams with no commentary on Max.

For the live sites: if you're talking about fan zones, they'll probably show French TV channels (not sure for the Champions Park, given it's directly managed by Paris 2024). For the venues, there's not a lot of commentary but most of what is said is in French and in English.

With all of the Games' official opening going on right now and some craziness that I'm doing at my end. I decided to hold off on posting further info and take a break as I continue to rope in some new info that broke with the Internet--and I definitely do mean there's LOADS more info that just came up in the last few days and I want to get a hold of--until Monday at the earliest.

Also, I'm jotting down schedules from around the world that disappear following a day or two. Funnily enough, this is actually the first time in a while that would participate in a live OC chat since I'm free from work. But I opted not to since I can't watch the OC right now where I'm at (LIBRARY). I wish I had my own laptop, tablet, smartphone that I can follow with but I don't.

I am yet to watch in full (i've only seem moments) but feel I might wait til I've got the patience or the IOC prepares an edited version on YouTube.

I loathe Australian commentators.

I watched on Stan, and it was a pleasant surprise - no ads at all, minimal, unintrusive commentary. Just watched a bit of the NNE replay with my partner and it was chalk and cheese - so annoying.

British TV ratings for the week ending 28 July are now in. The Opening Ceremony was easily the most popular programme, with 7.15 million viewers, of whom all but 100,000 were on TV rather than phone etc. The TV viewing represented a 47.5% share, though it's perhaps worth noting that only 5.45 million watched live, with another 1.33 million recording it to watch/ fast-forward after they returned from the pub, and 280,000 watching the next day or later.

The Sunday evening coverage got 5.2 million (35.5% share of TV audience) and Saturday evening 4.33 million (35.6%). Afternoon coverage was in the 2.8-2.9 million ballpark; mornings 2.4-2.5 million (but a high share, around 43%)

OK, I'm back! Let's get right on back to it. Will be a smaller one before the much bigger one later this week.

Some more Opening Ceremony viewership records including Britain's to observe and start with

The Paris 2024 opening ceremony was watched by 28.6 million viewers across NBCUniversal platforms (including more than 2.5 million streaming viewers on Peacock) in the US, which makes it the most watched curtain-raiser event for an Olympics since London 2012. France Télévisions recorded an average audience of 23.2 million viewers for the ceremony on its France 2 linear channel, as well as a viewership peak of 25.2 million but still fell short of the France-Argentina 2022 World Cup final (24.08 million) despite surpassing all French Olympic broadcasts since Beijing 2008 onwards. In the UK, the BBC delivered an average audience of 6.8 million viewers, with a peak crowd of 7.9 million tuning in on BBC One. The event was watched by 13.3 million viewers in Canada across CBC, TSN, Sportsnet and RDS. Germany’s public broadcaster ARD drew in an average viewership of 10.1 million, which was an audience market share of 45.7 per cent--most watched since Athens 20204. In Italy, Rai’s linear television coverage was followed live by 4.2 million viewers, which translated to a 29.2 per cent audience share. Australian broadcaster Nine’s live coverage was watched by 2.14 million viewers nationally:

https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/paris-2024-opening-ceremony-viewership-nbcuniversal-bbc-france-televisions/

Chunghwa Telecom, which garnered the Taiwanese exclusive IPTV and streaming rights from Olympics domestic rights holder ELTA TV, reported that their streaming platform HamiVideo experienced a server crash during the broadcast of the men's double badminton knockout stage, as the Chinese Taipei male duo of Li Yang and Wang Qilin successfully advanced to the Gold medal matches on August 1 thanks to an instant influx of Taiwanese viewers:

https://www.cna.com.tw/news/ahel/202408020157.aspx

Wikipedia and the IOC lists Venezuela's TVES as the sole broadcaster for the Venezuelan Paris 2024 Summer Olympics coverage, but when I visited TVES' website there was no schedule replete with the tv schedule. Hopefully I'll get more when there's more time.

For Norway's TVNorge/HBO MAX/Eurosport Norge, the opening women's team handball match between Scandinavian rivals Norway and Sweden was a massive start with a peak of 531,000 Norwegian viewers with a viewing share of 67% in Norway, meaning two out of three Norwegian TV viewers chose this on TVNorge:

Continuing on with the Norwegian Paris 2024 viewing bonanza for TVNorge and HBO Max with 633 hours of live sport and 46 gold medals (among the 140 medals awarded overall) in 14 sports were awarded this past weekend--and in the digital viewing figures. More than six times as many hours have been streamed on Max as in the same period on discovery+ in Tokyo, and already after one week Max passed the number of hours streamed as during the whole of Tokyo in 2021. TVNorge ruled being the largest channel in the 25-69 age group on both Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with a market share of 32 per cent on Sunday. That's higher than at any point during the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games:

I should have indicated that the figures I gave are for BBC One, and do not include channels further down the EPG, including the Audio Described coverage on BBC Red Button, for which data are only available to BARB subscribers. Newspapers controlled by the Murdochs and by the Reach empire were quick to make suggestions in the aftermath of the ceremony such as "Viewers of the Olympics opening ceremony switched their allegiance from BBC to Eurosport, largely due to the presence of Laura Woods" but the figures behind such claims remain elusive.

Barbara Ellen from the Guardian immerses and navigates her way as a Brit in the BBC's and Eurosport UK and Ireland's "exciting" Paris 2024 coverage, with all those multiple channels combined, and following Team GB's athletes and likes what she sees:

NBC's Paris 2024 TV viewership ratings are up 78% from Tokyo's. Lots of factors are in play: cable and Peacock viewing are up and being more accepted, Team USA performing very well (as they always do) with top draws shining, seeing the fans back in the stands from the pandemic creating a more charged atmosphere, more favorable time zone for the US:

Peacock will get mentioned many times over here, however delayed, on NBC's Paris 2024 coverage and how it's improved since Tokyo and learned it lessons then. Now with streaming becoming increasingly and rapidly a force in sports broadcasting, the Olympic Games, be it Summer and Winter, with its multiple sports in the offering, is tailor-made for "addictive" viewer customization/fragmentation, viewing, and providing "have-it-your-way" choices and formats in presenting the Paris 2024 coverage. A brand new era in Olympic (and sports overall) media indeed:

The IOC and its President Thomas Bach happily anticipates Olympic social channels will achieve breaking streaming and digital engagement along with viewership records upwards towards 8.5 billion worldwide from its media rights partners with "figures are going through the roof":

Nine Network Australia returned to Olympics broadcasting in 12 years, and, if you've been paying attention, went big in its multiplatform Paris 2024 coverage. Using XR tech and graphics new to Australia to make some on-site Paris eye candy

Quote

The network is leveraging its multi-platform capabilities to deliver coverage across free-to-air TV, streaming, digital publishing, radio and print.

The production of Nine’s Olympic coverage involves a collaborative effort spanning three continents with approximately 150 staff members are on-site in Paris, while an additional 300 are working from Sydney. This hybrid production model balances the need for on-the-ground presence with cost-effective remote operations.

At the heart of Nine’s Olympic coverage is a unique studio setup in Paris that leverages a famous background with the latest in augmented reality technology.

The International Olympic Committee provided official broadcasters with shoebox studios in the picturesque Trocadero area, overlooking the Eiffel Tower. These compact spaces – also home to NBC, CBC, BBC and others – created a challenge for traditional studio setups.

To overcome this limitation, Nine’s team opted for a set design that mixes the view, a physical desk and expansive virtual set extensions, creating an extended reality environment. This decision allowed them to create the illusion of a much larger studio while maintaining the coveted Eiffel Tower backdrop.

The set’s physical components are minimal, consisting of a desk, chairs, a window, camera equipment and sidewalls about 10 feet deep. The rest of the studio, including the floor, ceiling elements and augmented overlays are created and rendered using Unreal Engine through Stypeland. Real-time graphics are powered via Vizrt.

Mark Roberts Motion Control provided a StudioBot XL, the primary camera in the space, with Stype camera tracking.

The goal was to create a seamless blend of physical and virtual elements indistinguishable to viewers.

Nine has also recruited and deployed AE Live, Jago Design, and augmented reality to design, create, and develop the main Paris 2024 studio and offer graphics. Even had help from Nine's North Sydney headquarters with its team of 20 graphics operators, technicians, designers, developers, producers, directors, switchers, and project managers supporting this broadcast:

“Each of these elite athletes are living their sporting dream and every single one of them has a story to tell. Former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, along with French Constitutional Council President Laurent Fabius, congratulated China Media Group on its broadcast coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of the mutual building of the China-France relationship and showcasing French culture and history for the France-China 60-year diplomatic relationship:

All images and sound from the competition transmitted through this highly secure site with multiple TV studios, commentary booths, and technical control rooms "everything was designed, proposed and often invoiced by Olympic subsidiary the OBS":

Plus, it was French telecommunication giant Orange, formerly France Telecom, that provided the connecting and sole service of delivering live Paris 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic coverage at the International Broadcasting Center and connecting from all points within France and even Tahiti, including a 5G network, connecting with the OBS English international satelitte feed as networks' with greater resources opting to send their images via fiber. Paris 2024, as Comscore's Denan Ren notes, was going to definitely be a serious change and evolution from the traditional Olympic viewing habits, audience engagement, and structure involving NBC with newer technological changes, digital innovations, and access where Americans can watch the Opening Ceremony live and later tape-delayed during primetime, where it typically attracts larger TV audiences (as was previously the case with Tokyo 3 years ago on both counts as must be noted). Stronger social media engagements from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, X, and Weibo and advertiser brand integration both went to unprecedented levels in major viewer consumption. For @NBCOlympics and @Olympics, total social media actions went twice as much leading towards the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony from Tokyo 2020 to 6.4 million:

SPORT BILD was impressed with Eurosport Germany this year with its coverage, including the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics and named the German broadcaster with Sports Editorial of the Year, winning the 2023-24 sports year. For a pleased Eurosport Germany's Jochen Gundel, "it is always about the combination of relaxedness, expertise and emotion. We want to convey what makes sport and people special - and do this with the right mix of classic television and digital diversity,"

Mexican Paris 2024 medalists Osmar Olvera, Juan Celaya Prisca Awiti, Marco Verde, Alejandra Valencia, Ana Paula Vázquez and Angela Ruiz became the center of attention over at TV Azteca Sports, as they were in charge of getting an Olympic medal for the Mexican Delegation at Paris 2024 in what started as a rumour but apparently became an exclusive but controversial contract when they only spoke to Televisa/TUDN after claiming their medals, and their fellow Mexican athletes, in Paris that got leaked afterwards--and refused to speak to other Mexican media outlets there to cover the events, infuriating them, until some Mexican athletes had to wait until their Televisa turn. An act that would also support them overall in their sporting careers along with media exposure:

BRAZIL: 140 million people watch the Paris Olympics on TVGlobo

Olimpíadas de 2024 serão o teste definitivo da IA em transmissões | Fast Company Brasil

TVGlobo has concluded its report on its audience numbers for the Paris Olympics. The channel reached the mark of 140.4 million viewers during the broadcast of the world's main sporting competition. The information is from the newspaper "Folha de São Paulo".

The channel, in fact, had a 10% growth in audience compared to the Tokyo Olympic Games, which took place in 2021.

In addition, specifically on free-to-air TV, the broadcast of the Paris Olympics promoted a 6% increase in audience. This is when analyzing 18 days before the games on average per day, in this case from 7 am to midnight. Thus, the average was 14 points.

In the 18 to 34 age group, there was a 9% increase in its audience. Regarding the morning and afternoon periods, the channel reached its highest numbers since the 2022 World Cup, in Qatar. Thus, when checking the national average, the sports that were most successful among viewers were: women's surfing (21 points), men's surfing (19 points), women's soccer (17 points), women's beach volleyball (14 points) and men's boxing (13 points). It is important to highlight that surfing was broadcast during much of the prime time.

Grupo Globo led the audience statistics for the Olympics on both open and closed TV and even on streaming services

Women's soccer hits record on Globo with the Olympics
Thanks to the campaign by the Brazilian women's soccer team, the sport was a success on Globo. After all, it broke a record with an audience of 71.7 million people during the Olympic Games. The highlight was the final of the tournament against the United States, last Saturday (10). Second place went to women's artistic gymnastics, which had 69.4 million viewers. Next comes women's beach volleyball (64.8 million), women's indoor volleyball (55.7 million), and men's beach volleyball (55.3 million). The broadcaster also celebrates the audience numbers of Central Olímpica. This was the program that featured the daily summary of the competitions, hosted by Tadeu Schmidt and former athlete Fernanda Garay. The program's audience was 71.5 million, a 3% increase compared to Central da Copa.

Finally, Grupo Globo also celebrated the results of SporTV (Pay Channel). After all, SporTV1 and SporTV2 were the leaders in pay TV audiences during the Olympic period. Incidentally, the Top 5 also included GloboNews, Viva, and SporTV3. The program Ça Va Paris, which aired on SporTV2, stood out with an audience of 8.8 million people. There was also a 30% increase in the average daily live consumption of Globoplay, the company's streaming service. The comparison takes into account the four weeks prior to the start of the Paris Olympic Games. It is worth noting that the broadcaster still has a valid contract to broadcast two more editions of the Olympics. The next one will be in Los Angeles, in the United States, scheduled for July 2028.

This was supposed to be the second of two analyses of the ratings for Channel 4's Paralympic coverage in the UK, based on charts from thinkbox.tv. Unfortunately, their chart compiler was off last week, so this is the first of one analysis …

The Channel 4 top 50 for the week of 2-8 September 2024 included the seven nightly news bulletins as usual, but with two exceptions at #31 & 32, everything else was Paralympic-related. Six episodes of the comedy current affairs show The Last Leg (which had been created as a Paralympic special in 2012, but was so popular that it has been a mainstay of the channel ever since, normally in the Friday 10pm comedy slot) appear at various positions from #5 to #17.

The #1 show for the channel was the 18.30-21.30 coverage on Monday 2 September, with 1.18 million viewers: 1.06 million of them watched live; nearly all the rest later that evening. That sort of viewing split was typical for the sport coverage, though The Last Leg typically had about 13% of viewers catching up the next day.

The closing ceremony took the #2 slot on the channel's chart with 1.13 million viewers (only 31,000 of whom waited until the next day) and the commentary team's look back at the Games, which immediately preceded it, was at #7 (1.07 million). However, that evening's episode of The Last Leg, which started at 21.30 while the ceremony was still in progress in Paris, only made it to #12, with 994,000 viewers.

In general, the ratings for the sport coverage were in reverse order of time-slot. The main evening shows were mostly in the Top 10, then the late afternoon shows mingled with the news bulletins in the teens & 20s, followed by early afternoon & late morning shows in the lower 20s to 30s, early morning coverage in the 40s. The #50 slot went to Saturday 7 September's 08.00-11.00 programming, on just 381,000.

The next week's viewing figures are just out, and provide some context. That #1 show in the Channel 4 Top 50 from the previous week would only have been #6 this week, beaten by Formula 1, Taskmaster, two episodes of 24 Hours in Police Custody, and, inevitably, the watching-people-watching-TV favourite Gogglebox which gained 2.96 million viewers. The Team GB homecoming celebration was #42, with 357,000 viewers.

Top show of the week overall was the return of BBC1's celebs-being-brutally-taught-to-dance favourite Strictly Come Dancing on 6.69 million.

Television Jamaica, or TVJ, went all out its Paris 2024 live coverage basically coming from a 1-hour daily preview show at midnight Jamaica time to 4pm with multiple sports, especially going to and prioritizing with Jamaicans being in them, although ultimately focusing on the track and field--many of the West Indian nations and territories bread and butter. TVJ served as the Paris 2024 hub with support from sister TV channels TVJ Sports Network (shooting, gymnastics, beach volleyball, volleyball, water polo, badminton) and JNN (like in soccer) whenever events overlap and can't get shown. TVJ ended things with a 1-hour post game show at 4pm simulcast on TVJ Sports and then devoted itself with a 1-hour highlight show at 8:30pm. 1 Spot Media and Hitz FM were also involved. I'll get more info as soon as I get it.

A TVJ Paris 2024 promo which actually doesn't display any Summer Olympic footage at all; just the sights and scenes in Paris shown. Saying it's "gearing up for unparalleled coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Stay tuned for thrilling moments, outstanding performances, and the spirit of champions." Television Jamaica's Paris 2024 presentation sponsors were KFC, Coca-Cola, Digicel, National Commercial Bank, Red Stripe Beer, Sagicor Life, and Courts:

Jelena Sinik presents her 20-second showreel of her televised design and animated work with her creative team for the Nine Network's massive Paris 2024 coverage, the most ambitious and biggest Australian TV broadcasting project, with help and support from Richard Squires, Dan Snitzer, Gary Yeung, Nicolette Axiak "and everyone else involved in the making of these beautiful pieces":

Nine's newspapers family--specifically the editorial staff from The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian Financial Review, the Brisbane Times and WAtoday--meanwhile went on a 5-day strike after overwhelmingly ejecting an improved pay offer starting from the Friday official opening day. But it didn't impact Nine's multiplatform Paris 2024 coverage. So not everyone was getting into the Olympic spirit despite Nine's CEO's wishes:

Telemundo's Paris 2024 US Spanish cross platform presentation struck gold with 3.9 billion minutes consumed across all platforms, up 51% Vs. Tokyo's as its most streamed and watched Olympics. Particularly when it came to Telemundo's Olympic broadcasting jewel: both men's and women's Olympic soccer!

By July's end, Telemundo was already up 44% in viewership for Paris through the opening weekend through a record 1.1B minutes were consumed on Telemundo, Universo, Peacock and Telemundo Digital Platforms. Soccer ranked huge but so did Telemundo's first ever Opening Ceremony telecast record-breaking at 3.5 million live minutes and overall hitting high in the largest cities with strong Spanish communities. Social media in the US Spanish Olympic realm was high too:

A documentary production team, including Kajuz, was granted access for behind the scenes material in multiple sports during the 100-day lead up for the 2024 Brazilian Olympic Team's road to Paris towards its 20-medal haul with association from the Brazilian Olympic Committee. The 70-minute documentary called Mission Paris: The trajectory of the COB and Team Brazil up to the biggest Games will be released this December coinciding with the Brazil Olympic Awards:

Aldo Bertoni, writer for Pianet Mountain Bike, expresses some disappointment towards "Mamma RAI" over how it betrayed Italian mountain bike fans during its overall Paris 2024 coverage as he was watch compare RAI 2/RAI Sport/RAIPlay with Discovery Italia despite the former promoting mountain biking on its programming guide and instead heading into other sports like water polo and men's tennis:

Despite that mishap, RAI struck it big overall (we'll get to that soon) with its Paris 2024 coverage. Including the online/social media realm

Quote

During the Paris Games, Rai's information and sports portal confirmed the constant growth of traffic data, with daily peaks of 6.5 million total visits, driven by the offer of articles and videos dedicated to the Olympics, which obtained over 25 million views .

Preceded by the Interactive Storytelling special on the new disciplines , the offer on  www.rainews.it was structured around a daily “marathon” with all the updates in real time. News, statistics and video highlights of the races, RaiSport interviews, TV news reports and live reports from the correspondent. And the appointments, the Italians competing, the results, the medal table, the curiosities, the moments to remember.

Record numbers also on social platforms, where RaiNews.it has the largest fan base and the best growth performance among all Rai newspapers since the start of the 2023/2024 season .

On Instagram and TikTok, many Olympic contents selected by RaiNews.it have exceeded one million views, with peaks of 7 million for a single video. From Thomas Ceccon sleeping in the park of the Olympic Village, to the Chinese gymnast who bites the medal on the podium “imitating” the Italian athletes, from the hot interview of Angela Carini after the meeting with Imane Khelif to the photos of the magical performance of Sofia Raffaeli. In addition to the extraordinary results of the videos of the Italian victories published in collaboration with RaiPlay. Tens of thousands of interactions and likes also on Facebook and X.

With St. Lucia having sent just three athletes--Julien Alfred in athletics (100m and 200m) Micheal Joseph in athletics (400m) and Luc Chevrier in sailing--to Paris this summer, 1st National Bank has made a $30,000 donation from its Corporate Banking Manager Solomon Emmanuel presenting a check towards the 2024 Olympic broadcast with local media partners Helen Television System (HTS) making them Title Sponsors of the program. HTS was the exclusive Olympics broadcaster for Saint Lucia and brought the West Indies island nation Olympics coverage from Paris, France daily from 6:00am – 11:00pm. The Paris 2024 broadcast, shown and streamed on HTS Channel 4 and Cable 116, was set to feature daily reports, interviews from Paris and an emphasis on local and regional athletes. Proved to be quite huge as 1st National Bank-sponsored track star Julien Alfred made history in earning that nation's first medal--a gold in the women's 100m! Surely that was the most-watched TV event there:

I guess france⋅tv is quite happy with its viewership during Olympics and Paralympics.

The Olympic opening ceremony is now the most viewed programme in the history of French television, with an average of 24.4 million viewers (17.1 million for the closing ceremony). 60 million people watched the Olympics, with an average watch time of 24 hours.

The most viewed events: the 4th gold medal of Léon Marchand (15 millions), also his 2nd (13.9M), the judo team event (13.2M), and men's finals in rugby sevens (11.8M), football (10.7M) and basketball (10.2M).

https://www.francetvpub.fr/succes-historique-pour-les-jeux-olympiques-de-paris-2024/

France 2 was the most viewed TV channel in July and in August. It's the first time since the 80s that TF1, the main private broadcaster, has been beaten on a whole month.

For Paralympics, the opening ceremony has been watched by 10.2 million people on average, 8 million for the closing ceremony. Most viewed events: blind football final (5.3M), athletics with Timothée Adolphe and Gloria Agblemagnon (5.2M) and swimming with Alex Portal (4.5M). 50 million people have watched Paralympics.

https://www.francetvpub.fr/france-televisions-succes-historique-pour-les-jeux-paralympiques-de-paris-2024/

To compare with the previous Paralympics with a limited time shift, in 2012: france⋅tv already had broadcasting rights but they only showed live the ceremonies... on their channel dedicated to overseas territories (well, UK is over the sea, after all). They also broadcasted a best of each day late in the evening, and sold the rest of broadcasting rights, with all live competitions, to a local TV channel for 1€. Guess we have come a long way.

The frontpages of yesterday and today's editions of L'Équipe: Cassandre Beaugrand winning World Triathlon Championship Series and Alexis Lebrun being European table tennis champion.

spacer.png

It would have been completely impossible before Olympics.

There were Ligue 1 matches this weekend, that's what sells newspapers all year long but the frontpages still focused on triathlon and table tennis. There are a lot of possible explanations (these competitions were broadcasted on L'Équipe TV channel, there are several controversies with football -what's happening with Mbappé, the total mess of broadcasting rights..) but it's still a huge thing.

Also, the first race of Léon Marchand since Olympics took place last Friday (the first stage of swimming World Cup, a competition that nobody cares in France usually). Because of time offset, the race took place during the mid-day news bulletin. So, the bulletin was on special edition to show the race live, what else?

The media coverage of Olympic sports has changed A LOT, let's hope it keeps going.

Interesting to hear, that's something that didn't really properly happen for us after London. Obviously Ligue 1 is nothing like the Premier League but I wonder if this is a sign that your legacy will be a very strong one :)

(Although might it damage Ligue 1 even more than it already is...)
