DATELINE - December 15 Abuja, Nigeria

In a shockingly banal move, 1976 Olympic gold medalist in fencing and IOC President Thomas Bach has sensationally allowed another city to enter the venerated Olympic Logo Competition!

"I have told the Executive Board it is in their best interests to allow them to reconsider the initial picks." The 1976 Olympic gold medalist in fencing continued "they have been told to change course. As such I have weighed up the pros and cons  for them and have decided to allow the previously elimunated Trojena,, Saudi Arabia to win this competition - a competion as close to my Golden heart as... say... the Youth Winter Olympics or the European Games!."

The announcement was made as the 1976 Olympic gold medalist in fencing inspected  the Nigerian capital's preparations for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

"I understand these Games were staged ovet 8 years ago in Scotland" the 1976 Olympic gold medalist in fencing remarked, "however Abuja will be a wonderful host for this long finished event."

The 1976 Olympic gold medalist in fencing finally invited Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to offer how this momentous policy change had come about - "Death threats and Riyals".

The assembled press throng of one guy from Around The Rings and a stray goat did not have any further questions.

 It's the kind of thing Bach would do as well. Reykjavik won the election fair and square, but you do have a kindred spirit in @Sir Rols who suggested putting Trojena in the election in the first place! I wonder if we'll see any logos from you in the comp, we're always looking for new entrants :)

Ah, Puppy!

You know with African bids the logos are interchangeable. Just change the city names. I showed how to do it with my Abuja/Nairobi flying elephants. It’s ready to submit for here too if needed.

How’s Olympic City Brisbane? I think the board’s poorer without your thoughts on it (even if t is a pretty low bar here these days)
