USA actually made every edition of the FIBA Basketball World Cup. They look to qualify. USA has never failed to qualify. Quote

Durban Sandshark Posted December 28, 2022 Report Posted December 28, 2022 Draw is April 23. Also of note is hosts Philippines has selected Team USA as its group partner to be based in Manila for next year and will be placed in two different groups of four. Indonesia, co-hosts but failed to qualify due to not reaching the Asian quarterfinal stage for not having recent top-level international basketball pedigree and experience outside of its Asian/Southeast Asian region, chooses Canada for its Jakarta-based group partnership. Japan meanwhile takes Slovenia for its Okinawa-based two-group partnership. I do expect the FIBA field would expand from 24 to at least 32-48 national teams in the near future to keep up with other team sports these days like even team handball with its own World Championships.
