baron-pierreIV
Will this have support from the Federal gov't in Madrid? I mean this is just another strike for Catalonia's independence.
Ikarus360
Pretty sure this bid lost all of its seriousness after they sabotaged Aragon as much as they could. Dead on Arrival.

Guilga
AKJMKLSNJKLAJMKLASNMKLÇANMKLSNMKLAMLSNLOANMLAMALNSLÂLAMAMÇM<AÇA] THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY TRYING AGAIN!!! Oh, boy... The politics here is gonna be fun. Quote Vilagrà’s concept unveiled Thursday at a meeting of regional representatives leverages venues that were part of the dissolved project, and replaces those that had been proposed for Aragon to instead be relocated to Catalonia, and other countries. A new a high-performance ice sports center would be built in Gavà to host curling and ski jumping would be staged across the border in Sarajevo. Other venues would be located in Barcelona and across the Catalan Pyrenees. OH MY GOD, THEY ARE REALLY TRYING TO GET SARAJEVO INVOLVED AS MUCH AS THEY TRIED TO TAKE ARAGON AWAY! It´s amazing in its own right, for real. Honestly, it would take a 2032 bid process-like tom actually have them hosting 2030, but try just to make us amused again, Barcelona. Still think you should target summer, though.
stryker
How much of this is the work of Samaranch Jr?
baron-pierreIV
This bid's not going anywhere.
yoshi
Samaranch Jr would be best served if he tried to get a Barcelona 2036 bid going - it might cause Castilian fury but if Madrid can see past that, it's the best chance Spain has of getting a second Olympics. There really would be little hope for an Olympic committee that thought Seville 2004 was a good idea but passes this chance up for regional rivalry. SportLightning
That Barcelona 2030 bid is still alive but as a solo bid.

The intent where they'd expect the rest of the country to help flip-the-bill for this.

Catalonia is not getting another Olympics until either a) Madrid finally hosts their first Olympics, or b) Catalonia finally declares it's independence so they can pay for it themselves. fusilli
BTW, another region-labeled promo. Is this a trend? Next Hokkaido?

But the past winter bid of Jaca got farther along to warrant any federal monies.

baron-pierreIV
Nah. The Japanese are a very unified people. They've had no regions wanting to break away. Even Okinawa, if I remember correctly, voted to join Japan.
