It‘s not only home of Audi but also where Mary Shelley placed Frankenstein and his creation! Definitely worth a visit, if you can avoid fast food. I can absolutely concur with that, Ingolstadt's old city centre is really nice actually and very cozy. The visit to Ingolstadt is one of my favourite memories of the time I had with my then-boyfriend who was living in Munich. Too bad we missed the "Burger" back then, though. Quote

As far as several of the above interested parties for the 2036 Games who, like Istanbul, have plenty of existing venues and stadiums, including Seoul, Barcelona, Doha, Budapest, Istanbul remains in this field very competitve. It will be up to the IOC Future Host Commission to have discussions with each of the twelve interested parties for the 2036 Games to then decide who is elevated to Targeted Dialogue as ‘preferred bidder’. Thousands more to see the America's Cup?? Where did you get those stats? At most a few hundred descend on the docks to see what little yacht-racing that they can. Nothing in the "thousands." That's pure fabrication. It is such an elite and FLEETING sport that only true aficionados--numbering in the hundreds--follow closely. 1 1 Quote

Barcelona defends the America’s Cup as a fan magnet “The Barcelona’s city council has defended the crowd-drawing power of the 2024 America’s Cup, 1.6 million people have encountered the event in the city since it began.” ”The council said the count included people who had passed through the downtown Race Village and two other fan zones, plus Port Olympic where the Youth and Women’s Cup teams are based.” The Americas Cup has been running for two months now over these past two months while the challenger races have whittled the final down to one. The cumulative figure of visitors to Barcelona for this Americas Cup series over these past two months is huge, as it always has been whenever the Americas Cup has been held in recent decades and now as well. “The council said the figures excluded people attending private functions or watching from informal public spaces, such as the beaches looking out onto the race course.” Newspaper El Pais reported council officials had said the countinghappened only during the opening hours of the official fan areas, and only on race days. “The figures include people who have repeatedly visited areas.” The Final Americas Cup Matche Races actually start in 11 hours between Emirates Team New Zealand and Ineos Brittania. The FINAL Americas Cup Match Races are about to start in a few hours and no doubt lots of Britons and yachtieswill have made the quick flight over to Barcelona to see if Great Britain currently in red hot form can win the Americas Cup for the first time since the first race 173 years ago in 1851. Well, this is true becuz it's the first time GB is in play and might take back the Cup. So maybe it's an exception. But even when they held it in SF in 2013 (God, has it been 11 years ago already?) It didn't get those crowds. SF lost a lot of money when the tourism figures didn't come in. Quote

Since then, these new flying on foils super fast Formula 1 class of America’s Cup yachts are so so quick, it’s literally like watching an F1 Race on water. Incredible technological advances since that SF regatta where a much slower class of yacht was deemed to be “fast” at the time. Quote
