Guilga Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 https://sg.news.yahoo.com/ioc-thomas-bach-singapore-host-olympic-virtual-sports-festival-022001655.html We might be seeing a e-olympics at the near future... The article talks about declarations of Bach that Singapore could soon host a Olympic Virtual Sports Festival, alongside some of the country progress in eSports and Virtual Sports, two terms that aren't lumped together as the same thing, interestingly. This might signal that that supposed event would be more focused in simulations of existing traditional sports, like in last year's Olympic Virtual Series which featured the liked of Zwift, Gran Turismo and even Virtual Rowing and Sailing alongside Pawapuro, a japonese baseball game that some might know by the name of Power Pros, when they tried to break in the western market with the MLB license. By the latter game, we could assume that games like FIFA and NBA 2K would featured in such a event, but not the traditional eSports mainstays:. That's the League of Legends and Street Fighters of life. But what you all think? Quote
Brekkie Boy Posted August 19, 2022 Report Posted August 19, 2022 If it's an event in it's own right then fair enough. Just need to be kept well away from actual sporting competitions. E-Sports is a skill, not a sport. Quote
