Who has the leading to set up deadlines? Aaron could give us maybe the dates. He gave as first the criteria for the WC bid book game.??

Aronious
After realising many difficulties with my Scotland, Wales bid, I have decided to change my host nation. I will now be bidding with 2006 Semi-Finalist Portugal. The book will be available on the 24th or 25th.

fatixxx
Okay, how's this. There's still some people interested in the WC comp. And obviously 2028 is gonna happen eventually. Why not set a deadline of July 31 for the WC bid books. Then vote straight away. Simple, if you're in, you're in, and if not, tough. And then set August 1 as the deadline for 2028 applications. Between now and then we can try to work out a 2028 timetable. Ok folx, I'm copying this from the other topic. These will be the deadlines for the upcoming bidbooks. I thank roltel for his opion on the dates. I do not want to sound as a teacher. but the dates are fixed now. Good luck to everybody !!! Roltel you ara a genious, somebody who wrote something. OK, at least there isn't any person or authority who will take the strings to lead this. So I accept your inisiative. I'm in.. who's next. Just confirm these dates. I citate roltel.: --->>> July 31 deadline for submission WC bid books. --->>> August 1 deadline (begin) for 2028 applications YUUUUUPPPPPPIIIIIIIII

Aronious
Lack of stadiums, for one... A realistic bid from Scotland/Wales would be fairly difficult to compile. There national teams struggle, and having 10 stadiums over 40,000 in the two countries would not be sustainable. Even Millennium Stadium alone is enough for Wales’ sporting and concert needs. Realise that most of the countries population is based in just 3 cities, all of which do not need any new stadiums. Although there is substantial infrastructure, and good support, the lack of realism just takes the fun out.
fatixxx
MO CAN YOU MAKE ALL THE COMPETTITORS LOGOS LIKE THIS FORMAT WHEN THE VOTING BEGINS WE CAN HAVE THEM ALL IN THIS FORMAT WALLPAPER STYLE Aaron, when is your logo finished .. So we can have all of them in a row.

Although there is substantial infrastructure, and good support, the lack of realism just takes the fun out. Not sustainable long term, I would agree, but certainly sustainable in the short term and also a means of instigating, in some cases, stadium development that has been talked of for years but not yet happened. For example, in Scotland, as well as: Murrayfield (capacity 67,500) Hampden Park (current capacity 52,500, but I would look to increase to around 75,000 to host the final) Celtic Park (capacity 60,000) you also build a new stadium in Aberdeen to replace Pittodrie which the club has been looking to do for sometime. Build it to a capacity of 50,000 initially and then reduce it to somewhere around 30,000 thereafter. Do the same in Dundee, as was talked about for Euro 2008 and you're there. Then in Wales you have the Millennium Stadium (capacity 74,500 and venue for opening game). On top of that, go for: St David's Stadium (long talked of new home for Cardiff City, capacity 60,000) Liberty Stadium (new home of Swansea City increased from current 20,000 to temporary 40-45,000) New Wrexham Stadium (it would probably be too difficult to redevelop the current Racecourse Ground as required, so build a new temporarily 40,000 seat stadium, before reducing to a permanent 20-25,000) Then redevelop Stradey Park in Llanelli (yes, it's a rugby ground, but give them back a brand-spanking new stadium and I'm sure they won't mind). So then you would have: Final at Hampden Park Semi-finals at Hampden Park and the Millennium Stadium Third placed play off at Murrayfield Quarter-finals at Millennium Stadium, Murrayfield, St David's Stadium, Celtic Park To be honest, I think the infrastructure would let them down more than ground potential. Aronious
Eden for the final. I laugh and it hurts! New Zealand is unlikely even as a fantasy bid, though still good to see someone giving it a go. I guess we have had Hydrabad, Ulan Bator and Dubai (Winter) before. Why not co-op with Mo's Australia bid?
arwebb
I'm thinking of putting in a Scotland-Wales joint bid, as well as England. How long have I got?
