They were leveraging their costs. So, what you're saying is that they should've PICKED still a 3rd venue for the Paras? 🫢 Didn't you see that, financially, they are already in the red -- and you still wanted a 3rd Ceremonial venue? I think they got a sweetheart deal for the Arena (which is not used at all in the Winter), so . . . . Quote

On a somewhat related note, while the widespread model works for the Olympic Games, I don't think it does for the Paralympics. If it wasn't for Para Ice Hockey, Milan would not be needed at all whatsoever, and the Games could have been concentrated in Cortina and Tesero. Quote

And the Paras really are only there becuz of venues already used in the regular OGs, w/ adaptations. Did you see their Flame Lighting Ceremony? Out of nowhere, they just came up with a flame -- and then they used 2 ABLE-BODIED athletes to be the first Torchbearers?? 🫢 Makes the regular OG's and all their goddesses/priestesses at the big Olympia to-do really look silly when the Paras just do it with a Bic lighter backstage!! 😀 It's NEVER explained where their flame comes from. Also, if memory serves me right, since Paris 2024, they decided to name their flame the Heritage Flame which I thought was quite appropriate and a good alternate to differentiate from the IOC's "Olympia" flame. Now, unless I missed it -- I see no mention of this being their "Heritage Flame"? I think the IPC must have very high personnel turn-over if simple things like their IPC Stoke-Mandeville flame lightings keep changing all the time. OK, fact-checkers (you know who you are!) 😉, do your job and pls correct me if I am misinformed. Edited March 6 by baron-pierreIV xx Quote
