fusilli
^^ the oddest scenario would be the current one: letting old fashioned- fake ravamped San Siro host an olympic ceremony. Can you imagine if old Wembley hosted 2012 OC?
SportLightning
This could be the final event for the iconic stadium.

It will be it's last spectacle, I believe that such a cathedral must get revamped and by no means demolished, but if it is doomed to be demolished then what's the value in revamping it? baron-pierreIV
What's so odd about San Siro even being up at all in Milano is that in the 2nd city in the world with the most fashionable catwalks, such an UGLY structure w/ so-called ramps, even exists! What a paradox.
fusilli
^^it's not that Paris, 1st fashion capital, has a jewel stadium. Stade de France looks kinda dull for such a city.. but at least is a contemprary venue not a 90's phantom like the other one.

SportLightning
The San Siro Stadium is having several problems so that's it's the best they can do. It's the way life is.

And one really cannot avoid Milano if you want to go to Lake Como as that is nearest major transit point.

So its much more modern than other places like Firenze or Torino. However at least you got Cortina to compensate for it.
