Of course, atmosphere must be perfect here; Milano Cortina 2026 will be the New Norm first real test. Four years to see if it will hold up or the Italians will fumble it for the IOC dismay. After. The Opening Ceremony will occur in the existing Guiseppe Meazza stadium also known as the San Siro. It will then be demolished. Originally, it was planned to have the teams move before the games and have the Opening Ceremony as sort of a good-bye show for San Siro. But (as we're in Italy, after all...) things are moving slowly and opposition by locals to dismantle the historic stadium is rising.
