philipp morgenstern
Does anyone have any ideas what will happen to the Yanqing alpine skiing center?. For the 2018 games, the alpine skiing venue (Jeongseon) is not a functioning ski resort and there are plans for the forest there to restored. When China opens up without restrictions will they get more world cup events in those same venues in the coming years?.
StefanMUC
Xina promised 300 zillion new winter sports fans as a result of Beijing 2022. They will surely populate all those wonderful venues. Alternatively, Uyghur slaves can work in the reforestation there as well.
munichfan
I guess this might be the right thread to post this one: https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1119612/yanqing-national-sliding-centre-ibsf-wc There has been a memorandum of understanding to host bobsleigh and/or skeleton world cups for at least the next five years. Given that China won a bronze in skeleton during these games and the sport is in desperate need of more countries being able to compete for top results, this probably isn't the worst idea. Also Big Air Shougang will become a regular World Cup host in Big Air - no surprise here. Biathlon World Cup events in Zhangjiakou are a bit of a surprise to me, though. It's not like that sport is popular over there or has reasonable chance to be so in the future.
