I'm shocked by the lack of inspiration and emotion. Oh my goodness. I thought this concept would never work, but this is even worse ... jesus... can’t believe how bad this is There's about 145 minutes to go. Be patient! Quote

It’s the fact it’s raining and the skies are dark and gloomy. If it had been sunny earlier with blue skies, this ceremony would have translated better. Quote
rio2016man Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Do you know who would be having a field day with the Opening Ceremony? Graham Norton 1 Quote
HenryOaks Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 It would be better without rain. And according to the radar is going to get much worse. Quote

But i feel if the direction, editing between live and prerecorded clips and live camerawork is properly thought through, this can be a fabulous ceremony. But it’s completely letdown by this and it’s hard to follow on tv by what’s happening. Quote

Tatsh Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Camera management wasn't prepare to deal with rain, what a mess Quote
yoshi Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 I think some set piece was due to happen at the end of the Marseillaise (drones maybe?) but the rain is a problem. They stayed on that picture of the sky for a long time. I'm enjoying this even so Quote
Faster Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Y'all making me enjoy this just to spite all y'all. Hi @Michelle How's Gamesbids' favourite Belgian? Hope you have been well all these long years of your absence. Quote
Victorian Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 It feels like everything is all over the shop without a true structure . Also, for performers I was sure the OBS had graphics listing the performer but it isn’t occurring here? 1 Quote
Red Centaur Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 I’m notice a struggle with scale. Paris is BIG - and the performers / performances are getting lost or struggling to have impact within their settings. 1 Quote

I'm not that sure about it, a nicer weather would surely help make this a better experience but the camera work would still hold this back, it's that terrible. Quote
Red Centaur Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 I’m not liking the fragmented parade of nations. 1 Quote
SkiFreak Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Couldn't the CBC get better announcers? What's her name sounds like Mike Tyson and cant say her "S"esss and turning them into "Th". Annoying. Quote

I think it’ll get better when it gets darker and the lights play a bigger part with the Eiffel Tower in all its glory later. Quote

The music selection has been superb, and no doubt will continue. Sunshine would have given it more of a lustre, though. Quote
