Brekkie Boy Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Well London can already be condident it won't be topoed. The worst start to an opening ceremony I can recall. Even the awful Commonwealth Fames ceremonies of 2014 and 2018 were better than this. Quote

Most look miserable compared to the reaction we see when they enter the Olympic Stadium. Flagbearees lost amongst it and now they've cut to Lady Gaga. Look on the bright side. Teams like Espagne and the Etats Unis can't use their sneaky walking tactics to maximise their time on camera Quote

BIt weird that the whims of the new bid "process" are having an effect on this. Giving the next Games a bit is fine, the next Games after that as well...bit weird. Edited July 26 by Rob2012 1 Quote
kevzz Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Gosh what song is this? Thw whole ceremony feels really hectic and haphazard so far! There is no flow and story Quote
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 So have the boats with countries we haven't seen just stopped while we have this Gaga interlude or are they just floating further along and we catch up to them later? Quote

I'm wondering the same.I'm worried the spotlight is being taken from the athletes this badly, although i'm enjoying Lady Gaga performance, i wont lie Quote
emre Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 omg been years since ive been here hope u all enjoying... yet is it me or someone else also feel same. wtf French doing? from logo to mascot and now this parade and ceremony? they steal the athletes only moment (except the races) who waited for 4 years and dream about this..... Never understand the Frenchs.... Quote

Olympian2004 Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 I think it is clever to split the parade of athletes into segments with show elements in between. I mean, let's be honest: Of course the parade is the athletes' moment to shine - but it usually drags on forever during the summer opening ceremonies. I think this is a breath of fresh air - but I doubt it will be repeated in future Games, in the classical stadium setting. Quote
