iceman530
Hell, this might be everything skiing too at this rate of activity. Excited to see the slopestyle events and looks like women got first run. I dont see the smog, looks like blue skies, and riders are actually raving about the course. 30 minutes til we see whats up. iceman530
riders saying "best slopestyle course in Olympic history", per announcers, passes the eye test. Everything looks smooth as hell. Good features.
iceman530
If I could have one critique, course feels very short. Feels like at least 2 other features should be on there. I reckon thats probably due to mountain size.

iceman530
Not sure theyre better than Jamie Anderson, who even with the run she put down, was obviously saving her bag of tricks. She seemed a level up on the course. But.......thats why we ride, lets see what happens.
iceman530
So many emotional feels about Shaun White's last go, that guy is an icon for me. I hope he somehow finds the podium, that would be an epic closer for him.
Faster
I'd be ok with a repeat of the X-games podium from January.
Sir Rols
Congratulations New Zealand on your first ever winter gold medal! Genuinely happy for you. Huge achievement. Good on Zoi! And not unhappy with Tess’s placing for Australia either. Wasn’t really expecting that. Sir Rols
I’m, holding out hopes for Jakara Anthony in the moguls tonight - but maybe there should indeed be a separate thread for everything skiing for that. Good all the same for our small but vocal snow sports community. (just not a big thing in NZ...more a "Summer" nation outside the Rugbys.) Looking forward to the end of the week where some very good medalling prospects are to be had, including another from Zoi.

iceman530
Cant believe someone dropped an 1800 for the first time in Olympic competition and only got a silver for it. Im sure that will generate a good bit of controversy, but good for Canada for taking first and third in a hotly contested slopestyle. Sir Rols
Phew! The cross never fails to get the blood pumping. Pity about Belle. Gold finally for Jacobelis - no premature showboating this time!

The controversy is the guy got badly outscored in the technical portion, yet got a near perfect overall and an overall that was just enough to keep him in silver over a better third run from McMorris. yoshi
So pleased for Jacobellis that she finally won it, I remember her falling in Torino. And yes Rols, it's always one of the highlights - feels like the kind of thing Australia should be good at!
iceman530
Old Man Shaun White qualified for next round. It was close, but he put it together
iceman530
Finished 4th against a strong field. Man, that is truly the end of an era. Arguably the biggest ambassador of the sport, that one hits home for me. It was a pleasure watching you ride, Shaun.
Sir Rols
Well, I was a bit disappointed Scotty James couldn’t better silver, but great competition in the end. And, yeah, Shaun is a class act.
