So we've had the ancient traditions of Scotland, now time for the modern side of the country:

I'm sure you'll agree, a far better symbol of today's Scotland than John Barrowman and a dozen dancing marshmallows. We're in Falkirk, a fairly unremarkable town between Edinburgh and Glasgow. It happens to be home of two of modern Scotland's greatest landmarks, the Kelpies:

And the wonderfully mad Falkirk Wheel (it's a boat lift):

We're here to begin part TWO of the Glasgow comp, the exhaustive/ing bit. and the first Round 2 in a GB logo comp since 2020. Here are the voting results from Round 1:

A: 4 B: 3 C: 0 D: 1 E: 3 F: 0 G: 4 H: 0

A result that gives us a very clear top, and bottom, four. So we say goodbye to @PikyoK @Anthony (as my impartiality obligation only applies to what's still in, I'm a bit surprised at this being out so soon), @MWHoisy & @Olympian1010. Better luck with Istanbul (Olympian, you can enter it, & Anthony, pls choose ONE of your Istanbuls before the vote :) ). Danke to @munichfan for the grid, and sorry for the delay.

Anyway, Round 2. Here are the (slightly different) rules:

  • This voting round will be open for (approximately) 48 hours - it will close at 10pm UK time, Saturday 22 January . SHORTER TIME - only 4 logos.
  • Voting will now be conducted in rounds until one entry has an absolute majority and is declared the winner.
  • In this and following rounds, the logo with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated at the close of the poll.
  • Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote, so make it count.
  • Your vote is public and can be seen by all.
  • Entrants MAY vote for their own logo if they wish. For transparency, I will not vote unless required to break a tie.
  • Votes are valid if cast by members of GamesBids as of January 1 2022 with a bona fide posting record.
  • I will rule on the validity of any suspicious or disputed votes, or who constitutes a bona fide voting member.
  • I will not vote in this, or any subsequent rounds. However, if a tie-breaker vote is needed, I will reserve my right to vote in order to break it.
  • Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT.

If we don't get a winner, we will meet again for Round 3 on Friday. Until then, good luck and may the best logo win! :)

@yoshi I would like to officially withdraw my logo due to what i consider to be voting irregularities.

I have tried to PM you but you can't receive any messages.

Please consider all votes for my logo in this round and the previous round null and void.

Hi, sorry for not being able to receive PMs. As Rols says, everyone who has voted so far is either someone who has entered the comp and submitted a logo (and not voted for themselves) or the rest I'd have thought you'd recognise from before or in current threads :)

Nobody seems to be able to receive PM's so i will make my feelings public:

The reason I called suspicions on the vote for the logo comp was that I believe that members PikyoK and MWHoisy are the same person.

1. They joined 2 months apart from each other

2. The profile pictures although being two different emblems are the same style and colours

3. They both use a combination of capital letter and lower case in their screen name. The capital letters in both are in odd places

4. They have both voted for the same logo in both rounds of voting

5. MWHoisy has only 3 posts, all made in the logo comp thread since December 2021 (a bone fida posting record?)

I think if you look into both members a bit more closer you may draw similar conclusions. I would not have brought this up if i did not believe it to be true

Oh come on mate, that’s drinking the koolaid stuff.

Pikyok’s been a heavy contributor to the boards this year, more than most. In past comps, anyone who’s submitted a logo has been allowed to vote - that’s only fair, and that has always included new members who joined just to submit to the comp. In both cases, they voted for Victorian, yet another member who has also been posting strongly in the board at large (on mostly different topics from Pikyok). Seeing anything suspicious in all that is akin to QAnon.

What are the voting irregularities?

Not sure if its related but you did contact me to specify I vote for your submission (I wasn't aware of the competition). I voted for my favourite and you've since been 'confused' reacting all of my posts elsewhere. Seems like a fun competition why take it so seriously?

Get over yourself mate

I have been on this site for 15 years, i have no interest whatsoever in what crap you post, let alone wasting my reactions on them.
