I've been updating the Expo 2030 bidders a while ago, Two past Olympic host cities Moscow (Russia) host of the 1980 games and Rome host of the 1960 games are bidding to host the World Expo 2030 and competing against the other cities: Busan (South Korea), Odessa (Ukraine) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). Saudi Arabia is also focusing on the 2034 Asian Games in Riyadh and bidding for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. If Moscow is selected it world mark 50 years since the city hosted the Olympics. I Expect Moscow to host the World Expo 2030, it would be the first time that Russia has hosted the World Expo. The host city will be selected in 2023.

What's your guess who could host the World Expo 2030? I predict Moscow since that seems like the perfect candidate to host the World Expo 2030.

With the way Russia is behaving these days, with malevolent intentions towards Ukraine?  I don't think so.  If anything, they might give it to Odessa -- just to smack Russia in the face.  And if they want total neutrality from those 5 candidates, then Rome will be the safest.  But Rome/Italy will be one of those tired, old, boring hosts already.

I still think Moscow would be a stronger bid over Odessa. Seems likely Moscow could be the Expo 2030 host. Well, we just have to wait and see who's prediction is right. It's a 50/50 chance between Moscow and Odessa.

Does most of the general public even still care about the World Expo. There's some talk now about the Olympics starting to lose their relevancy, so can't see the Expo's being much on people's radar anymore. I can't even think, nor care to know, where the last one was held, much less the last time I paid any attention to one.

The last of the "inventions expo has shown to the world" on Moscow's website dates back no less than 40 years.

I don't think 40 years, but if awarded it would be actually 50 years since Moscow hosted the Olympics in 1980. Moscow World Expo 2030 would mark the 50th Anniversary since the Russian capital has hosted the Olympics.

Either Busan, Rome or Moscow (in that order).  Odessa, given the near Civil War state of Ukraine is very unlikely, and UAE already hosted an Expo recently so I doubt they'll give it to another gulf country that soon.

I agree. Moscow is my guess Ikarus since it seems likely for Russia as host of the World Expo for the first time in their history.

With the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, this might be the end of Odessa's bid to host the Expo 2030, we wait for info on that. But it is possible that Odessa might withdraw from bidding to host the Expo 2030.

Maybe if russia is also banned from bidding, we can already bet that Busan will be the host of the expo 2030. On any other scenario moscow will host the expo, and that may strenght an olympic bid. If germany got 1916, and 1936, why can't russia get 2036, according to IOC

With the Expo 2030 Rome candidate logo unveiled that was designed by British communications agency M&C Saatchi, I added the World Expo 2030 Candidate below the logo, it's not added to the logo just yet since this bid is just the beginning.

I heard now earlier today that Moscow (Russia) has withdrawn their bid to host the Expo 2030 due to the ongoing circumstances between the two countries or Russia and Ukraine. I think Riyadh could be the host of the Expo 2030.

Today all four bids have submitted their bid dossiers.

FIrst up: Busan, South Korea:

Next: Rome, Italy:

then: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

and finally, Odessa, Ukraine:

I found the logo of Riyadh's Expo 2030 bid a while ago which is found on the bid dossier. The host will now be decided in November next year.
