Any word on the existence of the Brisbane Organizing Committee? I remember hearing about the legislation last year, but I never found out what came of it

A worldwide search is on to fill the CEO position and then it will be complete. That announced a couple of months ago so I’m guessing they will be at the interview stage by now withhan announcment not far off.

As for the other nembers of the BOCOG, several announcements have been mad3 over the last few months of different appointments so I’m guessing the CEO position is the last and biggest one to complete the Committee.

So, with 2032 in Brisbane, that means that the next closest date Africa/So. Africa can hope to host is 2040.  Maybe they will have muted those noisy vuvuzelas!!

Or maybe they'll continue the "down under" (south of the equator) Summer Olympics every 16 years trend. So that means Durban 2048 then! ;)

The new Sydney Football Stadium, one of the interstate football venues for the 2032 Games

How many Allianz Stadiums / Arenas are there at this point?

In Sydney, just one.  This new one replaces the old Sydney Football Stadium which was demolished on this site.

Around the world, there are 8 in total:

Went to Brisbane over the weekend. Such a beautiful city. It gave me goosebumps thinking that the city will host the Olympics in 10 years time! Was impressed with the public transport including the bus stations! We dont have bus stations in Melbourne! Would be good to see the new cross river rail especially the new Gabba station. The Gabba is really a bottleneck so anything to make it better will be good!

Glad you were able to make it up there Victorian and check things out after missing out on being there last July for the host announcement dueto the previous border restrictions.

Yes it’s a great city and will put on a great Games.

Absolutely, right up their alley.  They’d bring in Fatso somehow too and try and matchmake them!

The only problem is, both Pickhaver and Doyle are getting a bit long in the tooth. It’d be nice to see them hang on to 2032 to make an encore though.
