We wont see branding and logos for a while- it affects sponsors if there are too many Olympic 'brands' floating in the zeitgeist. I was amazed how early LA28 announced its logo- that was highly unusual.

It was part of the deal LA negotiated with the IOC at the time of the double allocation in 2017: an extended activation period to allow the marketing partners to activate earlier than usual. Since for the partners it is easier to develop an activation campaign around the final visual identity, LA launched its new brand much earlier than usual.

With the very smart LA 28 logo, where there can pretty much be any "A", they can evolve the logo so that there is no fatigue effect.

“The lack of inclusion of the Mayors of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast on the Organising Committee has proved a contentious issue.”

“Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate has claimed that he and his Sunshine Coast counterpart Mark Jamieson were not planning to join Brisbane's bid until IOC vice-president and then-Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) President John Coates urged them to back it.”

“Brisbane 2032 is the first Olympic and Paralympic Games required to ensure the Organising Committee’s event management practices are climate positive,” Liveris said.”

“To deliver a climate positive games the Organising Committee must ensure its emissions, waste and water event management practices leave a positive impact on the environment once the event is complete,” he said.”

“Liveris said BOCOG would soon develop a sustainability strategy for venues, transport and waste management to match guidelines set by the International Olympic Committee.“

The Gabba Olympic Stadium

“At Woolloongabba, the existing Gabba, earmarked as the Olympic stadium which would likely require a larger footprint, looms over East Brisbane State School and a heritage-listed former police station.”

“On Thursday morning, a chain of East Brisbane State School students and their parents publicly protested plans to redevelop the stadium.”

“They fear the school will be closed and the heritage buildings swallowed by the stadium.”

“Twenty years ago, the redevelopment of Suncorp Stadium triggered a similar debate over the adjacent Christ Church at Milton.”

Brisbane Live Arena

“A major international entertainment and sports company has entered the race to build one of Brisbane’s main Olympic venues, turning what was a market-led proposal into a competitive tender process.”

“Brisbane Times can reveal US-based Oak View Group will bid to build and operate the Brisbane Live arena, which has been earmarked for Olympic swimming in 2032, with what it says would be “minimal” investment from taxpayers.”
