Cruise ships simply dock in Brisbane as floating hotels during the entire period of the Games. This has happened at many recent Olympic Games to boost accommodation. They don’t convert anything in the cruise ships. They stay as they are. Student Accommodation - nil required. existing boarding schools with existing dormitories with beds will be used for additional accommodation. This has happened at many recent Olympic Games to boost accommodation, including Melbourne 1956, Los Angeles 1984, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and will again be used at Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032. Given the limited capacity at the new Brisbane International Cruise Ship Terminal which was not built to dock an Olympic sized fleet of visiting cruise ships, does anyone have any idea of possible additional locations around the Port of Brisbane or further along the Brisbane River to berth these during the 2032 Games ? In total, 30 cruise ships visited Sydney 2000 although not all of these visited the harbour city at exactly the same time. There were, however, a fleet moored at various locations around Sydney Harbour for the duration of the Games, several of which served as floating hotels. For Brisbane 2032 considerations, here is a googlemaps link to the >>link to Port of Brisbane << on Fisherman Island but there also appears to be other possible locations further in to the Brisbane River, aside from the Cruise Terminal (?). On 20 September 2000 and five days after Opening Ceremony, these photos from the City of Sydney Olympic photographic archives are of just some of the 30 cruise ships which visited for the Olympic Games. AustralianFan Posted January 17, 2022 Author Report Share Posted January 17, 2022 Great news about Stage 1 of the Coomera Connector which when completed will assist traffic flow and pressure between Brisbane and the Good Coast in the lead-up to, during and beyond the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Paralympics. A much needed and long awaited piece of SEQ road transport infrastructure not specifically designed for Brisbane 2032 but from which the Olympics will greatly benefit from, given the increasing congestion on the existing highway. Won French Open 2 years ago and Wimbledon last year. Depends on how long Ash, who is still young, wants to play. Brisbane in 10 years should be well within her career pathway and may even mark only the halfway point in her pro tennis career.
