Good to see japan's officials still interested in hosting the olympics, even after a disastrous outcome of the 2020 olympics. The only hurdle this bid has is public opinion at this point. Personally does Japan bid gets the games, hope for them to finally organize the "normal" olympics, the world expect from japan, and japanese citizens deserve.

Yeah, but will that be enough to sway the Japanese public to 65%+ to want another Olympic games, granted, a smaller one, so soon after the Tokyo debacle??  I don't think the sight of empty Beijing stadia in 3 months will help that number either.   (Although they had a fairly full Yoyogi stadium at last weekend's Grand Prix of Figure Skating event.  And the Grand Prix series Finals will be in Osaka in early December.  I don't know if even a popular Grand Prix series now will help the Sapporo bid.)
