The city of about 800,000 on the Sea of Japan near the borders of North Korea and China will join St. Petersburg and Kazan vying to be named Russia’s candidate to engage the International Olympic […]

Who‘s next? Tulsa? Leipzig? Oh…

Remember also Lille, Havana & Tashkent? lol

And wow, can't believe it's been over eight years since the whole Tulsa delusion scheme. The genius behind all that, tried to run for U.S. Senate for OK. early last year. He lost his run for that, too. Go figure.

Actually, what?  Yekaterinburg and Kazan are also in the mix.  If Vladi gets the nod. there must be some force field in that northeastern corner of Asia the Olympic gods like to revel in . . . So, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Sapporo, PyeongChang, Nagano, maybe Vladivostock???

Obviously, the ROC is encouraging it to show the IOC that despite the "bans," the Oly spirit is alive and well in good old Muddah Russia.  But Vladivostock is too small to host.  But puts them on the map for awhile.

But then Europe and the IOC should remind themselves of Russia's non-stop insidous efforts to foment trouble and destabilze everyone NOT Russian.  It is a 24/7 effort for them.

Looks like someone got confused by the 'crowded field' comment. lmfao

But at least it looks like the 'new norm' is already working, considering all this interest from all these Russian cities. Bach & Co. should find comfort in that. So world, "take notice!" Or otherwise, '36 will disappear from your reach, just like '32 did. ^_^

Would it even be warm enough for a SOGs in Vladivostok?

A great opportunity for an opening ceremony, the extermination of the Stellar Sea Cow

Oh man, I have actually heard Vladivostok summers are repulsive.  Similar climate to Tokyo and Seoul.  That disgusting repulsive humidity.

What does Vladivostok have other than being the same timezone as the Australian Eastern States?

Russia's major Far East seaport?  Yul Brynner's home town?  Base of Russia's Far East fleet, including its FE submarine fleet?

But it's just too small.  Only 600K population.  It probably wants a soccer venue assignment.

Largely because all but one city were excluded from the 2032 process.  And 2028 for that matter too.

The Olympic ban on Russia though clearly an absolute farce considering they're competing under the Olympic Committee banner and seemingly able to bid to host.

Not excluded at all.   I keep hearing this claptrap.

At that particular point in time, 24 February 2021, and three years after the New Norm changes were announced to the world, there was only one applicant who had ticked all the new boxes.  Just one at that point in time.

Brisbane was elevated from Continuous Dialogue to Targeted Dialogue.

The remaining candidatures were not excluded.    That’s on them - not anyone else.

That BS is now polluting every thread like those spambots obviously.

The lack of formal bids in the last decade or so has lead to a decline of this forum, but the idea of a clown posting New Norm fan fiction until the Paralympics closing eleven years from now will kill it for sure.

Like it or not, you’re stuck in the past in amongst entrenched in the old broken bidding system.

That’s your problem buddy if you find “change” hard to deal with.
