But here, we are talking about scenes that will take place on roofs, on boats. Not all of them, but many. It is not at all the same problem as for ceremonies in the stadium.

Apparently, you did!    Besides, they had a whole undersea segment, so . . .  it was baked into the scenario!!    And Lighter Kathy Freeman was going to get soaked anyway . . . remember??

It also rained after the fireworks display at the closing ceremony of Sydney 2000

Also during the Rio closing ceremony.

Yes, in 1964 -- a portion though.  I think it also rained a little in the Rio OC -- or it might have been the Paralympic OC?

Now that, I do remember! The stadium was half empty because not everyone could get to the CC, due to the bad storm on the very last day of the Rio 2016 Games.

In Beijing they "bombed" the clouds. It poured elsewhere but they managed to keep the OC dry...

Yes. I remember the cloudy London weather that day...but that's normal to a Brit. 😂

I am more concerned about the arson attacks on the French high speed rail network that has brought the whole rail system to a halt. This is not good.
