Here are my votes!

Best Cauldron Design London 2012. Kinetic, Modern take on a traditional structure.

Best Placard and Costume Combo for a Parade of Nations Rio 2016. Fun, flashy, different, kinetic.

Best Performance of a National Anthem Human Nature & Julie Anthony - Sydney 2000

Best Cauldron Lighting London 2012. Very emotional handing it off to young athletes. Loved the music and it was directed well.

Best Execution of a Parade of Nations Athens 2004

Outstanding Solo Performance by a Young Artist Nikki Webster - Sydney 2000

Seeing them all together like this reminds me how often truly imaginative and ambitious ideas don't quite work, but a few years later somebody figures out why and comes up with a neat twist

Best Cauldron Design Rio 2016 (improving on the small-scale in-arena approach of 2012; and yes I am including the reflectors as part of the cauldrons, so there)

Best Placard and Costume Combo for a Parade of Nations Athens 2004 (Rio missed an ideal chance to implement the 2012 "no placard" approach tidily)

Best Performance of a National Anthem Rio 2016 (nicely in keeping with the atmosphere of the ceremony)

Best Cauldron Lighting Barcelona 1992 (just because it's the traditional answer doesn't make it untrue)

Best Execution of a Parade of Nations London 2012 (the briskest in decades, with cool music, learning from Athens & Torino the importance of a moderate BPM)

Outstanding Solo Performance by a Young Artist Yang Peiyi, Beijing 2008 (only because everybody else has chosen the logical answer)
