Welcome everyone to the Games Bids: Summer Games Opening Ceremony Awards! Over the next few weeks you will get to vote for which city you think did the best in each category.  On the ballot are all of the Summer Games Opening Ceremonies from Moscow 1980-Rio 2016. Just like in real-life entertainment awards, several nominees were shortlisted within each category, but each city is still represented. This week we will be looking at five (5) categories:

1. Best Countdown
2. Best Drumming Segment
3. Outstanding Production Design for an Artistic Segment
4. Outstanding Costume Design for an Artistic Segment
5. Outstanding Fireworks Display

Notes: Best Drumming Segment is looking at how percussion was used in an artistic way to tell a story, not as a part of pomp and circumstance/traditional protocol. Outstanding Production Design for an Artistic Segment and Outstanding Costume Design for an Artistic Segment, we are looking at specific chapters within the story of the Artistic Program. We are not looking at the Program as a whole.
