When you have a city that is at least 10 years overdue in infrastructure as it is, even if it is in the province not in debt and rich in oil royalties, it makes me wonder how the city will ever host another international Games or the like. In my count, I think that is 4 international events Calgary can't bid because it doesn't want to or afford it in just about 3 years. In that case, good luck to those eastern Canadian cities in this matter. You are going to need it. Reasons for me for saying that is because of the above one and the city officials think that those who endorsed the idea in the first place were lunatics. They think that it would cost about $1.5 billion Cdn to really pull it off, if Calgary was successful in getting the Games. Money the city "doesn't have." Would have been hard for Calgary since 3 out of 4 Commonwealth Games have been hosted in Western Canada, 3 in a row too. So it's Eastern Canada turn.
