ghost1 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Here it is: This is a preliminary logo, but its been published in the Official Bulgarian OC Bulletin/Magazine, so I suppose it will be like the bid logo
ghost1 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Here a thumbnail: So, what do you think?
puxapiti Posted September 23, 2005 Author Report Posted September 23, 2005 I like it. Anyway, here in Spain we can think that¡s the commercial logo of 'MOVISTAR', the main cell-phone company in the country and ine of the bigger ones in South America:
puxapiti Posted September 23, 2005 Author Report Posted September 23, 2005 By the way... they are not allowed to use the olympic rings if until they'll pass the final shortcut
ghost1 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 By the way... they are not allowed to use the olympic rings if until they'll pass the final shortcut That's right and that's why there is another logo:
Kenadian Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Now that's a find! Not a bad logo. Actually, it is pretty good. Not a big fan of the font used, but still a good effort. I was afraid Sofia would chose something a bit stoic, but this has fluidity and motion.
Mikel Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I don't like it!- like puxapiti has said: it remembers me the Movistar logo... :oo: Movistar is property of Teléfonica (the Spanish company that controls half of the phones in Latin America and Spain)
puxapiti Posted September 23, 2005 Author Report Posted September 23, 2005 it remembers me the Movistar logo... And also Salzburg2010 logo...
cube Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 not bad and with the rings it looks really good but without it looks a bit empty
tominger Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 not badand with the rings it looks really good but without it looks a bit empty Thats right - without rings its not soooo good - but anyway: I do like it! Stylish and better than the "orgy" Pyeonchang 2014 logo
Sir Rols Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Is this the official one? I don't know about it _ it's just so plain to my tastes.
SOlympiadsW Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 hmmmm....I mean I really like the concept of the use of the mountain (which I hope an officialy WOG hsot uses someday instead of a snow flake or some rock sculpture).....but this logo is ok....it does look much better with the Olympic rings...but I think it will serve it's purpose and don't think it is necessarily bad....I mean just look at the 2012 logos (especially Paris).....
Kenadian Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 SLC and Lake Placid had mountains in their logos. It does look like Salzburg '10 though.
Andrew8 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 It's kinda a boring logo don't you think? It's only a mountain.... When Salzburg 2010 bid logo used a mountain as their main image, they did something creative to it by making it look like a musical note.... I wish they did something like that with Sofia 2014...
NYCD 2012 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 By the way... they are not allowed to use the olympic rings if until they'll pass the final shortcut That's right and that's why there is another logo: It looks better with the rings
Mikel Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Yeah, it isn't bad at all, it's better than Moscow 2012 logo...
tominger Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Moscow`s Logo was ok - more stylish than the boring Madrid Logo! ???
NYCD 2012 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Moscow`s Logo was ok - more stylish than the boring Madrid Logo! ??? What kind of joke is that?
tominger Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Its not a joke its my opinion - I didn`t like the Logo of Madrid. For me, the flame was stolen from the Manchester 2000 Bid Logo. Moscows Logo - together with the rings looked good, and they had a clear use of heir coporate identity - throughout the Bid Book and all the Bid stuff. Madrid could have done better - but I dont think this discussion fits here....
ghost1 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 but I dont think this discussion fits here.... Exactly This is probably a promotional logo, but it could stay as an official one I like it, it's the best!
ghost1 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 And remember that the colours aren't the best, because that's a scan from a magazine If I find a better quality, I'll post it here!
Mikel Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Moscow`s Logo was ok - more stylish than the boring Madrid Logo! ??? What kind of joke is that? Exactly, what kind of joke is that? Madrid logo was the second best logo after NY's logo..... :sleepy: And Moscos and Paris shares the last place...
Kenadian Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 If you go to the Bulgarian OC website - www.bgolympic.org - you'll find a flowing ribbon that is similar to the colour and style of this logo.
baron-pierreIV Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 It's OK, so long as there isn't a Dentists' Convention in Bulgaria that same year.
