See, this is where I don't get your logic.  On one hand, it's "don't rule out" (which no one is.. please stop offering up that straw man argument") and then in the next sentence you say "no chance" to something and ruling it out.

This is going to gradually develop in the coming weeks and months, but don't assume because some want to boycott that it's inevitable it will happen.  You don't need to react to every little bit of news as if it's a major swing in the balance of things.

I mean it's still possible the government themselves would put pressure on the BOA but without the Tory backbenches it's not at all likely to come via major Tory legislative rebellion.  However the Biden Administration would have to u-turn first as not likely the UK will pull out without the USA.

In the grand scheme of things, who is Maajid Nawaz and is anyone supposed to care what he thinks?

Not exactly a nice way to get athletes on side by using these type of arguments.

By the same token, does anyone actually think Joe Biden will listen to John Balentine?

The British government seem pretty desperate to not upset China so if that stratgey collapses a full boycot is likely.

And then if the strategy doesn't collapse, a full boycott is not likely?  There's way too many qualifiers in that statement to even try to attempt to understand what you're saying

Junior Foreign minster Lord Ahmed has said the UK has not made any decisions on 2022 with some lords demanding the government overrule the BOA and pull GB out.

Canadian newspaper urges the Canadian government to push for moving from Beijing or boycott.

Are you going to do continue to share every article and every opinion someone has on whether or not to participate in the 2022 Olympics or to boycott?

1) You are entitled to your opinion.

2) Your opinion is wrong. They clearly do not "want people to boycott" their Olympics, and have threatened retaliation against any country that boycotts.

They must know that increases the public desire for a boycott.

If you look for confirmation bias, you're going to find confirmation bias.  China wants every nation in the world to attend their Olympics and it's foolish to think otherwise, IMO.  Yea, they want everyone to ignore the human rights atrocities they're committing and will do the best to sanitize their image just like they did in 2008 while they were the focus of the world.  That's what they'll likely try and do again, although who knows how that will all turn out with the calls to boycott China are much louder than they were 14 years earlier.  It's going to be a political mess over the next 12 months and it's a good thing for China that there's another Olympics in front of them or else there would be a lot more focus on what's expected to happen a year from now (as opposed to 5.5 months from now)

I feel it end up splitting the IOC permanently with lasting splits and meaning 2024/2026/2028 are all boycotted by many countries.
