polarbear
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/olym...y.salzburg2.ap/ Sounds like the new guy in charge of the 2014 Salzburg bid, Fedor Radmann, is working to get the doping scandal behind them so the complete focus can be on a great presentation! He likes Salzburg's chances but wants to take it cautiously. Sounds like he'll do a great job and knows what "not to do" from past mistakes. Way to go! ~~~~~~~
zenica
a "wonderful" solution. There is only missing his wife Michaela and Franz Beckenbauer to complete the team. Salzburg then surely will win the bid race for 2014

polarbear
Oh ratz, I can't get that link to work. 09:00 Tue 21 Mar 2006President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Jacques Rogue said to the Spanish El Mundo Deportivo Sofia stands small chance of hosting the Winter Olympics in 2014. So far Austria’s Salzburg and Korea’s PyeongChang showed best organidation and facilities, Dnevnik newspaper reported. Rogue said he cannot confirm yet the short-listed candidate cities that will continue to the next selection round. This week Korean authorities will select a company responsible for the construction of two skating rings. Another campaign for the renovation and modernisation of winter sports facilities will also begin. All work will be concluded before the IOC inspection of the condition of the infrastructure. Salzburg mayor Heinz Schaden presented the city as the unquestionable leader in the competition last Tuesday.
