I suspect the IOC politely told India no for 2032 and recommended the consolation prize of the YOGs. I expect you'll see the same scenario with Jakarta in the coming months as well (wouldn't surprise to see Indonesia launch a YOGs bid). The IOC is not in the business of going to the developing world anytime soon.

As if there was ever any likelihood of India getting 2032...the IOC can walk back as much as it wants to, but reality is cruel.

Interesting with Jakarta, they have announced the move of the capital of Indonesia to East Kalimantan....that would be be a bigger construction and logistics priority over the next decade I would have thought...as well as sorting out Jakarta's diabolic transport and flooding issues.
