was unveiled today.  It does nothing for me.  Nothing innovative.

It feels very much like a reject from Beijing or OyeongChang.  Doesn't even mesh with the logo design, which was already boring to begin with.

Their pictograms are good; but I fear the rest of Tokyo's Look will be very much a retread of others.

A "C" effort.

Olympic torches for Tokyo Games on display

The relay torches for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics have gone on display at the Tokyo metropolitan government building.

The exhibit began on Wednesday, exactly one year to the day when the Tokyo leg of the torch relay will get underway.

The torches measure 71 centimeters long and weigh about 1.2 kilograms. The upper section is separated into five tubes, which resemble cherry blossom petals when viewed from above.

Visitors are allowed to pick up the torches, and many people were seen taking photos with them in their hands.

A woman in her fifties said the torches were beautiful, and that they were lighter than she had thought.

She said she will apply to take part in the torch relay, as she failed to win any tickets for the Olympics in the recent online lottery.

The torch relay will start in Fukushima Prefecture on March 26, and will continue for 121 days as it winds its way through Japan's 47 prefectures.

Between 1,200 and 1,300 people will participate in the Tokyo leg of the relay, which will take place from July 10 until July 24 when the opening ceremony is held.
