Please welcome Katie Melua, with an appropriate welcome to one of the strangest cities on Earth...

WELCOME/Қош келдіңіздер!

Again, not Kazakh, but with roots in Georgia, she's nearer than Elton John :P And this is the closest city to crazy - Kazakhstan's planned, modern & just-a-little-bit mad capital, Astana!

We are inside the FIFA World Cup Bayterek Tower, landmark of Astana, for the decisive Round 3. Here's what happened at Baikonur in Round 2:

A: 5 B: 1 C: 1 D: 5

That means that, once again, we have a draw at the bottom. B & C are a distance behind A & D, so as with Round 1, I have taken the decision (on advice from comp doyen Rols) to eliminate both of these low scorers, rather than taking a difficult tiebreak call & dragging the comp out when the eventual final is clear.

This means we say goodbye to @Glacib's Almaty & @JDCLauron's Zurich. While JDCLauron has a finalist, Glacib is sadly out of this part of the comp. Better luck in the summer half. We now proceed to Round 3, which is now THE FINAL!

So who will it be? Which logo will grace the winners' roll forever? This is where you decide:

  • This voting round will be open for around 48 hours - it will close at 10pm UK time, Monday January 7.
  • This is the final round, where a majority is certain. Whichever logo has more votes will be declared winner.
  • Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote, so make it count.
  • Your vote is public and can be seen by all.
  • Entrants MAY vote for their own logo if they wish. For transparency, I will not vote unless required to break a tie.
  • Votes are valid if cast by members of GamesBids as of January 1 2019 with a bona fide posting record.
  • I will rule on the validity of any suspicious or disputed votes, or who constitutes a bona fide voting member.
  • I will not vote in this round. However, if votes are level & a tie-breaker vote is needed, I will reserve my right to vote in order to break it.
  • Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT

That's all from me, time to vote in the most democratic decision this city has seen. We shall gather again on Monday night in Almaty itself to crown our champion. Thank you & good luck to both finalists, & may the best logo win!

GOOD LUCK/Іске сәт! :)
