R__
Ceeremonies will (almost certainly) be the last ever events at the San Siro. Hope they give it a grand send off.
AustralianFan
Even though the 2026 Games have been awarded, not good news re Italy second only to Russia in amassing this many doping rule violations in 2018 ….

I don't think that would be an issue for Italy hosting the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milano and Cortina. No problem on Italy unlike Russia. Why don't they use that as the sliding track for 2026 instead of building another one in Cortina??
FYI
On 12/22/2021 at 12:52 AM, AustralianFan said: Even though the 2026 Games have been awarded, not good news re Italy second only to Russia in amassing this many doping rule violations in 2018 …. Shouldn't matter if the 2026 winter Games have already been awarded. That is significant, & as a matter of ethical principle, the IOC should strip Italy of the winter Games, considering this serious revelation. And give the Italians as much so-called heat that they're giving the Russians in this same instance. But then again, since the IOC is having trouble even finding very qualified candidates for the Games, & in particular for the winter Games, this is just going to be glossed-over, like it mostly already has, & just continue to be business as usual at Lausaunne Headquaters. Remember though that for the non-ex-commie countries, the IOC's contract is with a city/org committee to stage the competition. How athletes behave is up to CONI, or whatever the respective NOCs are involved. As for Russia & China and all the ex-Commie nations, the IOC knows that the policies and practices of one is almost identical as the other - and that their gov't actually calls the shots on everything.
