And judging by some info on the article (although it was pretty much a given even before), the nomination is virtually SLC’s. There’s no way the USOC is giving this to Denver when the words “public vote” are right behind it.

Referendum is a very bad word for the IOC these days, & considering Denver’s history (not to mention Boston 2024, & we can now probably add Calgary 2026 into that mix), there’s no way the USOC is taking that chance (again). Plus, Denver would still have a lot of work to do on the snow side of things anyway. Too anti-Agenda 2020. Same with Tahoe - too many big venues & more accommodations would need to be built.
