baron-pierreIV 1693
OK, GB'ders, lately the Olympic Games adopt a new (marketing) theme as in: Atlanta '96 - the Centennial Games Sydney - Games of the New Millenium Salt Lake - Light the Fire Within Athens - Welcome Home Torino - Passion Lives Here. So, if YOU were to create the theme for YOUR own Games, what would it be? ANd name your country in case the theme becomes more relevant with us knowing what country it's playing in. The slogan, hypothetically, must display Olympism and universal themes of fair sportsmanship and brotherhood, and all that. Or not. OK, just off the top of my head. I'll start. I may come back later with a better one. Fort Knox 2016 - Gimme dat Gold! Reno-Tahoe 2022 - "Games of Chance and Beauty"

Cordelia18 0
This is funny since I had actually thought about that Baron... I think new kinds of slogans have to be created. We should link the olympics with other values than fair-play, sport or peace. They're outdated. For the bids I defend (Salzburg 2014, Annecy 2018 ) the slogans would be more like: Salzburg 2014: "An enchanting swirl" and Annecy 2018: "Let the dream begin" Oh and maybe, Montreal 2020: "Even losers can have the games" :laughlong:

Well, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (or Perpetual Pain in the Ass, as I call them) and the Dykes on Bikes would protest strongly. Where is the EO? "Games of Sibling Love" I think is just too...taboo! No, leave it in its uncorrupted form to Philly. SF would be "Games of Flower Power"
