Closing Ceremony Gold Coast 2018 CWG

Fireworks to get a cheer when there'd normally be a boo - you crafty organisers, you :P Brum was certainly ambitious - in the second half anyway. Wonder if there'll be more handovers like that in future - saves money on going out there & allows a bigger scale.

I supposed it was a good illustration of what you will see when you visit Birmingham. Wrap up well!

i expect the Athletes would rather it was restated in the Gold Coast!

Heh - they've come from Glasgow  To be fair, the second part of the handover was actually a bit less naff than I'd feared - they'd clearly planned it well, & it was well-filmed too. Not that handovers are ever an indication of what to expect - see London.

Can’t get over the fact they had smaller acts sing songs from bigger Aussie acts that clearly didn’t want to be there.

Dami Im singing Sia’s ‘Alive’.

The Veronica’s singing Kylie’s ‘Can’t get you outta my head’

Someone singing Olivia’s ‘Xanadu’

Oh look we can’t get Kylie and Sia so let’s get smaller, non international acts to sing them instead.
