"Another one! You fancy getting up there Crammy" she continues, increasingly baffled.

Is this filler then? Has something gone wrong? Or do Crammy & co not get a media guide? Why is CG England getting a speech? Is the Birmingham Lord Mayor gonna speak too?

Yes - also what was the font on the clock? Are we gonna get the Birmingham logo in this handover?

Here we go - the Brummie accent across the Commonwealth. Slightly different weather to GC but oh well :P

But funnily enough, Lady Sanity's accent doesn't sound verry Brummie.

No...did say 'Birmingham rapper' though. I love that they showed Spaghetti Junction though - Brummie landmarks not like Gold Coast ones. Now a slam poet, who might've had more impact if there hadn't already been one :P

Fireworks to get a cheer when there'd normally be a boo - you crafty organisers, you :P Brum was certainly ambitious - in the second half anyway. Wonder if there'll be more handovers like that in future - saves money on going out there & allows a bigger scale.

I supposed it was a good illustration of what you will see when you visit Birmingham. Wrap up well!

i expect the Athletes would rather it was restated in the Gold Coast!

Heh - they've come from Glasgow  To be fair, the second part of the handover was actually a bit less naff than I'd feared - they'd clearly planned it well, & it was well-filmed too. Not that handovers are ever an indication of what to expect - see London.

Wow that was really bad. Ended up leaving as the group of D list singers came on stage.

Thought the handover would be good but even that was bad. Only good part was Guy Sebastian, Anthony Callea and Usain Bolt dj’ing.

Can’t get over the fact they had smaller acts sing songs from bigger Aussie acts that clearly didn’t want to be there.

Dami Im singing Sia’s ‘Alive’.

The Veronica’s singing Kylie’s ‘Can’t get you outta my head’

Someone singing Olivia’s ‘Xanadu’

Oh look we can’t get Kylie and Sia so let’s get smaller, non international acts to sing them instead.

A LOT of athletes left very shortly after it started, lots of fans left early too. It was very bad. This is going to (deservedly) get savaged.
