OK a dedicated thread for the Para opening. Not specifically live chat as many people are unable to watch live, but a place to discuss the OC & keep the general thread general :)

Wait what more people are unable to watch it live than the Olympics OC? I find the Paras are easier to watch online that then Olympics..

The stream admin from that video tells me that this video it's blocked in some European territories, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK.

Stupid Channel 4, making it impossible to watch live on their internet TV app...grr

I wonder how much control they have over adverts in their streaming ouput- I guess they have absolute control over TV ads, but maybe not so much online.

I won't lie, that drum segment got kinda tedious after a while, though the projections were cool.

Now the arrival of the national flag. Also I noticed they slighty modified the main stage and raised it near the borders of the two adjacent tribunes to the cauldron.

I'd describe the opening sequences as "upbeat-traditional"- I wonder if they're trying to woo the home audience.

They went for the official interpretation of the Anthem this time, though with a chorus of operatic singers.

Bandabi at the seat Led screns :P That curve in the placard looks almost like the Thames but I just realized it could be the Han river.

Even the country name placards are "upbeat-traditional" (tho' the parade music not so trad ...)
