After 10 Days, NBC's primetime Olympic broadcast has favored men by a large margin. Full details including sport by sport data for the first 10 days included in this post.

Just a hunch here, but do you think that might have a little something to do with the fact that the men's figure skating has happened already and the women's hasn't?  And that the men have had 4 of their alpine skiing races while the women have only had 3?  I see that there was a similar trend with Sochi at this point compared to where they finished.  Not sure exactly what this data is trying to show though

Definitely the fact that Ladies Figure Skating has yet to happen influences the results, as did the alpine and snowboarding delays. We predict the gap will shrink, but not sure if it will be as small for Sochi.

Considering the only 2 events happening tonight are women's figure skating and women's ski cross (plus taped coverage of short track), expect that trend to continue for a 5th straight night.  When all this is over, you'll have to let me know what all this is supposed to mean.

And another question heading into tonight: Marit Bjørgen just became the most successful Winter Olympian in history. Will NBC give her more than a few seconds of primetime?

You do realize what else happened in that race, right?  That might be of some interest to NBC's audience?

Women dominate NBC's primetime Olympic television coverage for 5th night straight. Women have received more than 80% of the non-mixed pair coverage over the past five nights. Coverage of women in PyeongChang may be historic.

The biggest media story of the PyeongChang Games may be the lack of coverage Marit Bjørgen has received on NBC's primetime Olympic broadcast.

I'm sorry, but I'm having trouble taking you seriously now.  Biggest media story of the Games?  This constant narrative of yours that she deserves more coverage is getting old and tired and speaks more to someone who is personally offended that a favorite athlete that isn't getting showcased rather than a serious analysis of what NBC is airing in primetime.

Well good, it's as it should be. American women have been dominating in the Olympics for awhile now. They not only won us more medals this olympics, they also won us more gold medals than men. They're clearly the more reliable athletes.
