SkiFreak
Gonna have to watch again when it pops up on Youtube. CBC went to too many commercials.
LatinXTC
Oh man I haven't heard that song they're playing the ceremony off with in ages. Anyone remember the name to it?
Ikarus360
Also, there was supossed to be a Pagoda segment (there were props with the shape of roofs). I guess either they discarded it, felt the strong winds would had screwed it up, or that will be a Closing Ceremony thing. I opened a thread for Verdicts/reviews of the Opening, btw. Not worth getting less than 3hrs of sleep to see it live and probably not worth opening a free hulu trial to see the remainder of it after the NBC only offering the 1st 30mins for free. tpman
Good ceremony. High winds may have affect some segments. Good work South Korea.

Ikarus360
Well it seems that birdman from the initial segment is being the subject of mockery by korean denizens atm

Probably the best part of the entire OC. 2nd best is the Tonga athlete once again walking in the stadium shirtless!

There seem to be traditional buildings scattered around the Olympic Park, so maybe those weren't ceremony props.

Ikarus360
According to the official Twitter account, the river segment with the kids was an allegory to the Miracle on Han River aka South Korea's economic resurgence and becoming a big player in the present. olympian
As expected Yu-Na lit the cauldron. I'd be surprised if it wasn't her.
Ikarus360
I'm relieved it wasn't the North/South guys. Everyone knows deep inside this pretense of unification isn't going to last much after the games are over. The Dove segment would had been so much better without Imagine.

Ikarus360
In case you wondered There is a bit of discussion right now though, given the place where these murals are at present day is China at Jilin Province (even if they did belonged to ancient Goguryeo)
