My favorite announcers ever are probably those from Athens 2004 (loved the ethereal voicing) and the female announcer of both Atlanta and SLC ceremonies. I also liked Sydney 2000 announcers.

I absolutely hated Torino 2006 announcers and the english announcer of the London 2012 opening (they picked a much better one for the closing).

Remember they usually show a short official 15 second glimpse of the Opening Ceremony (based on the rehearsals) the last 5-4 days before the show, right?

Well, it seems MBC has released this so I guess it was with the IOC/organizing comittee permission (or maybe not).

This seems like a spectacular show. I hope they get the same announcers as the Gwangju 2015 Universiade. Also, I think there were 2 people at the front of each team at the parade of nations at the Dress Rehearsal of the OC; one held a lantern and the other must've been holding a sign for each country's name.

For what I can see, it seems they might represent the mythical birth of the korean civilization given the tiger and bear are present during the segments with the kids. The part with the light frames remind me somewhat of the Tokyo 2020 handover. That weird emoji at the middle, though (guess that was the part one of the volunteers mentioned looked strange).

The segment with the metalic flower and flames seem to be most likely represent modern/futuristic korea. The guys in red are wearing traditional korean masks (they used those creepy masks during the Seoul '88 opening "Chaos" segment)

So far it looks promising. It will most likely not surpass the massiveness of Sochi but I still expect it to be very entertaining and innovating nevertheless.

I just realised that the tiger and bear shown at the rehearsal of the Opening Ceremony was a reference to Soohorang and Bandabi (the PyeongChang 2018 Mascots)

Actually no. They are most likely a reference to the birth of the Korean people/nation. Search for the mythical origin of Gojoseon. The Bear and Tiger have always been the predominant animals which represent Korea (specially the later), and the mascots were based on this fact.

i have some spoilers (minor)...

First one: Usually the torch lighting ends the ceremony. However, there is a segment after it. This segment was described to me as one of the coolest things ever...

More later.

Interesting. True, most of the final acts are the lighting of the cauldron. The biggest exception being Lillehammer, and their final segment was amazing.

Let's just hope the describer wasn't a Korean tween and that they weren't talking about an all star K POP medley , which no doubt would be the best thing since sliced bread for them.

They'll probably give out the programmes to the people right before the ceremony starts.

I wonder if the artistic segment is before or after the lighting of the cauldron

Another source confirmed it for me... not Korean.

Was told 3 segments were not at the rehearsal and will be preformed for the first time tmr.

Final set: There will be a segment in which a bell is rung, (meant to invite fans and athletes to the games). As soon as this happens the arena will become 'ice'. This is where you will see 5 children perform.

(I think this is the very beginning segment)

It would make sense. For the articles i've read they mentioned the ringing of bells to signal the beggining of the Opening.

Also, if it's true they didn't rehearsed 3 segments during the public DR then that would had been a very smart move in order to keep surprises.

It looks like the same bell from the 2002 World Cup OC
