It is weird how teams look amazing one game and trash the next. And none of them can complain that it is the ice because Hans made the ice and its the same ice that has been there for Sochi, Vancouver, Torino, SLC, for every Brier, Scott, World Championship, Players Championship and every major Canadian bonspiel.

So now that Eve Muirheads British team are to have a bronze medal match my feeling are that when its this tough any medal is good!!!!!

Both British teams looked like silver or gold medle material through out the round robin

kyel smiths British team looked on cours to qualify but and I still can't believe after winning 5 matches they didn't.

But I can't help feeling especially after seeing Dave muroch on TV today that team GB has wasted experience at this winter games!!!

If David Murdoch feels a bit miffed that he wasn't able to attempt tp equal his teams  Brilliant silver, and with Canada out possible go for the gold

I think I would agree with Him.

this is not to take anything away from kyel smiths team who are clearly medle contenders for the next winter games.

Do we really have to wait four years? to see more curlling on TV

Well *I* feel bad for Eve. Tough to win a bronze at the last Olympics and want to improve, only to come in 4th place. 4th is the worst!

There will be no Canadian team and 2 Asian team on Women's podium.

On the men's side, I woke up the news that the Americans won gold?!?! They scored 5 (five!) in the eight end. I didn't catch them in the video but King Gustav of Sweden and Ivanka Trump were in attendance.

Saw a tweet that said "Mira-CURL on Ice!"

That was from Alex Shibutani!

HOW TO MAKE CURLING more exciting for TV?

Actually, it is already gripping in a rather cerebral way.  But maybe I would add:  trivia questions; and then they can add bells and whistles and lights on the ice track -- sort of like a pinball machine!!  Projections on the ice??  What else??

Also this:

damn damn damn!!!

I cant help wondering why with all the lottery money.
why none is spent trying to get curling off the ground in the rest of the United Kingdom.
great as the teams provided by Scotland are!!
this also raises questions about figure skating and why the UK cant produce any,

becouse I had figure skating lessions I feel it may be the culture at the Ice rink's  most British Ice rinks are dilapidated, the figure skating patch sessions are just an hour long.
the figure skating takes place in between Ice Hockey Matches, disco public sessions with flashing lights, and car shows on the concrete under the ice.

with all this going on its difficult enough to practice a camel spin  never mind throwing  stones across the ice as well.

I think the whole ice rink culture in Britain has to change for curling as well as figure skating.

My feeling, well before the end of the match, was "Uh-oh, if this goes on, somebody may well find themselves effectively replaying the role of Gareth Southgate in Euro '96"

As for getting curling off the ground in the rest of the UK: preparation of the ice is such a specialised skill, that significant expansion might be counter-productive.

Well there you have it. A strong Swedish team beat an unusually off Korean team to capture gold. I was hoping Korea would won at home,  but still pretty amazing top cine in second.

King of Sweden was there, but the CBC commentators didn't say anything- I don't think they know who he is.

I watched it, I felt somewhat sorry for the Koreans, but at the same time, they only made their country proud, and also contributed to the longterm legacy Pyeongchang 2018 will leave for the country in terms of  encouraging and growing the sport. Cinderella stories only go so far.

Onto the next Cinderella Story, the German and Russian hockey game!
