  1. 1. Which Logo Should Win the GamesBids LA 2028 Olympic Logo Comp?

Of all the great Olympic themes that aren't the anthem, this is the big one:

The rousing sounds of John Williams can only mean one thing - Darth Vader has abducted us all! Not really, it means we have arrived at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum!

(What is that sculpture all about?) Yes this is the big one, the place which will become the planet's only three-time Olympic Stadium in 2028. It's also the most fitting location for Round 6 - aka the Grand Finale! This is what happened on Hollywood Boulevard in Round 5:

A: 8 B: 3 C:6. It's plain to see that @Glacib's colourful LA outline is sadly gone, but it's also plain that 8/16 is half, but not quite the all-important majority. So we must have the final battle, & this is it.

The remaining logos, all 2 of them, are in Rols' post - & here are the rules, suitably amended for the final:

  • This voting round will be open for (approximately) 48 hours - it will close at 10pm UK time, Monday October 2. (After the success of voting numbers in Round 5, I'm having this open the same time. More voters = more democracy).
  • Voting will now be conducted in rounds until one entry has an absolute majority and is declared the winner.
  • This will be the last of those rounds, as there are only 2 left, so one of them will have a majority on Monday night, and be declared the winner.
  • Vote in the poll for your favourite logo. You have ONE vote, so make it count.
  • Your vote is public and can be seen by all.
  • Entrants MAY vote for their own logo if they wish. For transparency, I will not vote unless required to break a tie.
  • Votes are valid if cast by members of GamesBids as of September 1 2017 with a bona fide posting record.
  • I will rule on the validity of any suspicious or disputed votes, or who constitutes a bona fide voting member.
  • As mentioned, I will not vote in this round. If a tie-breaker vote is needed, I will reserve my right to vote in order to decide the winner. We don't want any lockdowns, do we?
  • Be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun and the entrants all deserve RESPECT.

And now the end is near...no matter what happens, we will have a winner at the end of this round. When we do, we will head back to Hollywood, to the Dolby (not Kodak anymore...) Theater, where the President awaits. May the best logo win!
