PYRROS2004 0
I was watching the 2004 Closing Ceremony. Somewhere they play the National Anthem of Greece, the host country and the next host country. Should they change the protocol and play one the anthems of the host and the next host? Guardian 22
Well, once we get to the Beijing 2008 closing ceremony, we will hear that Greek national anthem again. For sure, I don't think the IOC would want to offend the "inventors of athletism" here. Of course, we will hear the Chinese and British national anthems here, too. The raising of any three flags in this kind of IOC protocol manner (with the Greek one included all the time) will continue for a long while yet. Also, some of us Canadians can't wait for the Torino 2006 closing ceremony.
