5OlympicRings
Hello everyone, I've been locked out of my old Gamesbid account so I had to start over with a new name. And thank you in advance to anyone who has suggestions. As we have feared, getting accommodations are extremely difficult for these games. Travel sites have just now opened the dates for the games and there are so few hotels and most say they are already sold out. I've looked at Airbnb and few places are actually close to the two clusters and some are charging thousands a night. I've tried to use Google Maps to no avail- there is little public transportation that comes up. In the transportation thread it was stated that the train to and from Seoul would be $45 USD and there is just no financial way that's a good idea for staying in Seoul the whole time. Has ANYONE been able to get accommodations? If so how did you find them? Side note: I know there are at least 4 new hotels to be built but I can't even find their names to look into booking. Has anyone seen info about this as well?
KSG
The new hotels being built are all planned for Additional Technical Officials and sponsors which POCOG will then plan to move the technical officials from their planned accommodation in Bokwang and also move the sponsors from Seoul so I can not see them being made available to spectators Airbnb is not technically legal in Korea but there is some listings Although they think the price will only go up as the games get closer it's a very sparse area of Korea
5OlympicRings
What about the figure 8 hotel on the beach? That can't just be for non-tourists. I'm starting to panic. I called the number on the Pyeongchang website and the tourism people made it sound like it was too early to be looking.
lovecruisingtoo
The hotel and transportation situation must be very dire. Look at the CoSport page and you will see that they are using the Ramada Gangwon Sokcho for many of their hotel packages. For once the package INCLUDES ground transportation. The note is as follows: " Ground Transport - Travel to/from sporting and non-sporting venues included in your CoSport itinerary via dedicated coach including airport/hotel transfers. " Previously I don't believe CoSport ever included ground transportation in their packages.
5OlympicRings
Well I found a pension close to the freestyle venue. At least I have a place to sleep! Good luck to everyone out there!

Once the time table is available in Dec 2017, make reservation as early as possible, to avoid miss out the Games session.
MaddieJayne
If anyone is still looking for accommodations I have two empty rooms in a 3 bedroom condo in YongPyong Resort. It is a fantastic location and I booked originally planning to go with friends as my boyfriend is competing in Skeleton. It's just me going now so I would love to subsidize some of the cost. Please let me know if you know of anyone looking for a place to stay, shoot me an email at maddie@tether.it. Happy to share more info about the condo and myself!
