Who's seen ARRIVAL?

Recommended Posts

The circular "inscriptions" of the aliens . . . I know I've seen very similar creations, as a logo fo some international sport event or something.

Can anyone recall similar designs?

It does look familiar - I'm thinking a bid logo from the early noughties.

or maybe they're just trying out designs for the GBids logo comp?

I knew it looked familiar. But who's plagiarising who this time? Or were the Tokyo designers just able to see the future?

BTW, I really enjoyed Arrival. Good intelligent sci-fi.

I'd never seen those 2 Tokyo logos.  But here's the rejected Sochi one which does look so similar to that first Tokyo logo on the left.

I found the film somewhat mesmerizing; but afterwards, found the reverse conceit of "flash-forwards" instead of "flashbacks" a little cheap.  I know they're quite different, but I enjoyed THE MARTIAN so much more as a sci-fi film (a genre I generally don't enjoy).  And Amy Adams is way different from Riley (Sigurney Weaver), the Alien nemesis.  LOL!!
